I have a 2020 4Runner Limited. I changed my engine oil this weekend and I forgot how the skid plates are reinstalled. The big, heavy piece with the two clips or guides seems impossible to put back on. I would appreciate anyone's advice on putting these skid plates back together. I looked on YouTube but these skid plates are different from the ones shown.

***NOTE***Before starting to remove the skid plates, it may be useful to take some pictures of the skid plates before removing them. This will help when reassembling after you finished the oil change.

Here are some pictures. I can not figure out how the chips / guides go into the slots so I can align the plate to the rest of the bolt holes.

The front plastic piece is under the radiator.

The bigger metal piece has two clips that attach to the guides in the two other pictures. There are two guides.

I found this article. It looks like the pins on mine are bent.

How has this still got you by the coat tail?
OP, I mean this in a sincere manor, are you sure you got the oil change completed correctly? The skid plate is not a step in this job that hangs people up.

All finished. Thanks Kevin. I didn't realize the tang holes were forward of the screw holes. I was thinking the slots behind the screw holes were part of the attachment mechanism. I guess you're suppose to stick a screwdriver in there for removal.
