2016 4runner SR5 Premium. L4 light blink

2" lift with oversize tires, front end swap to 2020 styling

after putting my 4 runner into neutral and then shifting from H4 to L4 the low light comes on and just blinks. It doesn't lock in. Any suggestions on why this would be? I haven't tried anything yet.

Put it in Drive and slowly turn the steering wheel from 12 o'clock to 9 or 3 o'clock as you move forward, slowly.
It might take a few feet to fully engage.
This is why the 4WD needs to be engaged at least once a month to keep the mechanism moving freely.
