Several lights stoped working on a 2013 limited 4R. No backup lights,Driver turn signal blinks very fast and front light not coming on. License plate lights, and head lights working. Both yellow front lights not working. Looking at buying it because it is in excellent shape otherwise but messed up lights won't pass inspection sticker office.

    The bulbs are probably dead.

You'll have to dig up a wiring diagram. Usually multiple lights not working is due to a bad ground connection shared by all of them.

This. Start with ground wires. Next check for evidence of rodents.

If you’re looking to buy, why not have the seller fix it? Especially if it currently won’t pass some sort of inspection?

I agree, the fix could be simple, or be an expensive mess caused by deeper problems.

I’d pass, unless the seller is willing to adjust price for you to take a potentially large financial risk, and you’re willing roll the dice.

If it’s a dealer offering warranty, decide if you trust them to fix it later if they won’t fix it now.

Looking at the wiring diagrams, all your problem lights go to ground point "O1", which appears to be bolted to the driver's side B-pillar structure (see the body ground point map in the attached PDF). To do a visual inspection, you'd have to unbolt the driver's seatbelt, then pop off the interior plastic trim covering the B-pillar:

Bad grounds aren't common on 4Runners (or Toyotas in general). If you find the grounding lug is damaged or corroded, it may hint at a prior problem. Maybe the vehicle was in a crash and the seatbelt retractors were replaced. Maybe the previous owner installed an aftermarket roof rack that leaked at the mounts. Maybe the sunroof drain hoses got dislodged and leaked.

Sounds like it’s been electrically molested. I would tread carefully on your decision to buy or not. Probably why the owner wants to sell.
