Hi everyone, I have a 2010 4Runner and my rear tailgate window will not go up all the way and actually starts to reverse itself as it gets closer to the top. This started out as the motor acting like it lost strength as it got closer to the top and now it never gets to the top? Don't know if it's the motor but it definitely gets weaker each time I try. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like there something stuck, making the window think one of your kids finger is in there. Look the molding over real well, look real close, where it stops, and goes back down, in that area.

I'd inspect the track as described above and then use a second person to run the window up while you kind of "assist" it upwards by physically pushing it.

Not a fix, but it gets it shut.

Thank you guys for your help. I looked at the track and there seems to be nothing there to prevent it from going up. I had a friend that is strong as a bull try to pull it up as I tried the switch to move it up and we can only get it 3/4 of the way up and then it tries to go down and with him pulling it up we can only get it to about two inches from closing. He is the strongest person I know so there is a problem with some part of the whole mechanism? I don't know if there is a motor issue? I heard there is also a regulator, maybe that cause's this? There is also a little plastic black box that I saw which has two white plastic plugs. When I disconnect the plugs the door locks don't work and the tailgate will not open. I'm at a compete loss on what to do with it.
