    Hello,

My name is Leslie. Navy Veteran. Proud owner of a 2008 4Runner SR5 with 129,500 miles. I bought this 4runner just before the pandemic hit with 98,200 miles on it for $9500ish. My wife drives it mostly back and forth to work. It needed a lot of work. I tried to keep it as close to stock as possible. One thing I would like to do in the near future is upgrade the roof rack to an aftermarket one.

    Work done:

    The whole suspension was gutted:

Front: Upper and Lower Control Arms (Moog)
    Stabilizer Bar (Toyota)
    Coilovers (Bilstein 4600+Moog Springs)
    Stabilizer Bar End Links (Moog)
Left and Right CV Axle (1A Auto)
Left and Right Bearings (1A Auto)
Inner and Outer Tie Rods (Moog)

Rear: Upper and Lower Control Arms (Moog)
    Track Bar (Moog)
    Springs (Moog)
    Shocks (Bilstein 4600)
    Stabilizer Bar (Toyota)
    Stabilizer Bar End Links (Moog)

    Recent Suprises:
Radiator (Toyota) The original developed massive leaks from corrosion and possibly from the recent deep freeze weather we had. I routinely check my oil while filling up the gas tank. This is how I discovered the leak. Suddenly the Reservoir was empty, and I saw fluid all over the bottom of the radiator.

    Future Work that needs done:
New brake calipers on all four corners
    Rear Bearings
    Water Pump (Pre-emptive work)
Idle Pullies, Tensioner Pulley, Serpentine Belt.
Starter (Keep on hand in case)
Alternator (Keep on hand in case)
    Clean and Protect Frame.

Most of the items I purchased came from RockAuto.com

Future Wants: Roof Rack upgrade. So I can mount jerry cans up top.

We are planning to make a round trip from Iowa to California via the Rockies, toward the end of 2025. There will be four people and their gear for the trip. I have been wanting to do this for a long time. With the work done so far it drives much more smooth, quiet, and stable than when I first bought it.
