    slightly raised I think
    Hi there,

I love my raised 2006 4runner TRD. Bought it a year ago with 230k miles on it. No serious problems thus far, but something annoying recently came up.

The parts that control and hold in place the hatch window are rusted out and destroyed. So, the back window is just sliding down into the hatch, leaving the back open.

Dealer says 1100 just for the parts to get it back together, 1600ish with labor. This makes sense as it is a mechanical piece, it does let the window go up and down.

I never even used the back power window.

Anyways, I am worried about sinking this money into a car that now has 240k miles. I bought it because I hear 4runners can go forever. I don't want a new car, I like this one.

What kinds of costs can I expect on this thing in the next 50k or so miles?

Is it possible to maintain it and keep it good for another 50-100k?

Is it possible to save money by somehow fixing this window into place and foregoing the part that controls the mechanical window?

    What would you do?

Thank you for reading and for your replies!

    Adam
