Hi ! I am about to buy my first V6 4 runner in South America and have two options, both of them with just one previous owner and all services registered at Toyota dealership.

    1) 2004 sr5 with 175k miles -- USD 20k

    2) 2009 limited with 120k miles --USD 26k

Both are within the market price range, with the 2009 being slightly underpriced (~1-2k). I wanna spend around 2k more on tyres and coil springs.

It seems an easy choice but the 2004 looks better taken care of and feels more versatile when driving. Call me crazy but It has a better vibe also.

Based in your experience which one would you choose and why?

    Thanks!!

What do you mean by more versatile...?

I've got an '05 and I'm a bit biased towards the '04-'05, but mine is the V8 AWD.

On the surface as you stated, the '09 would seem to be the winner, but there are subjective things that definitely can sway that decision such as service records or even color.
