    Hello!

Yesterday I took my 4runner out of storage for the summer and was using the AC being it was 101 degrees here. Everything worked fine until I got home and heard a hissing noise, which turned out to be my ac line having been rubbed through on my passenger side upper control arm. I am going to a junkyard today in hopes of finding and pulling that same line. Once I do, and reinstall the line, do I now need to vacuum out the system? or am I just good to hook a can of freon up to it and recharge it? please let me know, first time replacing a component like this. thanks so much

You really do need to vacuum the system down, because once it's been opened up more than a few minutes it'll have moisture in the system. Some may tell you to replace the filter/dryer as well, but as long as it hasn't been a few weeks with the system open, I would just replace the line and vacuum and recharge it.

You'll be sorry if you don't vacuum down the system. Vacuum pumps are fairly inexpensive.
