I just picked up my second TRD Pro 4Runner, first one was totaled, and I am trying to figure out a hitch swing out for my bike rack.

I have a 1Up RakAttach, about two years old MAX, but it won’t go in the hitch enough excuse of the spare. Has anyone dealt with this issue or am I just incapable of putting it on my hitch?

I have it on my van and it works fine, but it seems like the male part of the hitch is too long and I can’t get any holes to line up.
My RakAttach also only has one pin hole.

How much too long is it?

You will need to modify it. The spare gets in the way.

Take it to a metal fab shop and try can trim it and drill a couple of extra holes.

I've heard of people having to shorten their hitch bar/ insert before because it was hitting the spare.

On my 13 I actually did the opposite and had a local metal fab shop weld on an extension to my hitch receiver.

Decided to just sell my Rac Attach and get the Kuat Pivot 2.0. Works wonders and fits both my van and runner!
Thank you for all the beta.
