I press against a connector at the front of the engine which appears to be a part of the circuit that activates the individual coils for each spark plug. The connector does not seem loose and may be missing a cover.... or not.

This has happened 4 or so times . Thus far, simply pressing against the front of the connector before turning the key has been reliably successful in starting the engine. This problem is occurring with increasing frequency.

I have yet to look for a code and the check engine light has not come on.

    Ideas?

I would replace the connector, it is shorting out/loosing connection.
