First time on a form. Don’t know the way to go about this. Introduction forum idk but hey everyone this is my introduction. Name Jim I bought my 4Runner in Estes Park, CO 2003 and shipped it to Hawaii in 2004. Been here since. No junkyards here. Small island. Some of the parts sites seem to have unclear drawings of the expanded view of the parts. Many say no longer available. I have an 87 4Runner. I’ve also noticed some are a “sunroof” with a latch and mine came with a crank that you rotate and the glass lifts up and moves back. Don’t know if it’s officially a moonroof or sunroof. It’s been leaking for a while. Temporary fixed it a while ago but I’m starting a top down, inside and out body work and paint job session as soon as I get that seal in hand.

Take a picture of the sunroof and crank. I know older Supras had a crank version and some old VW's.

Hoping to not take it off till I had the new one. But I will check that site. Appreciate that. I think it’s factory or original install. The crank fell off years ago. It was made of the same grey plastic as the rest of the interior. It was a 3 or 4 inch square and had a piece that slid out diagonal to give more leverage.

That's unique, usually the crank is up front in-between the visors. Might have to have a window shop match up an alternate seal.

Have you tried contacting a dealership parts department? As far as I can tell, a sunroof/moon-roof was optional in '87, so they should at least be able to tell you if the seal is available. From there, you can decide whether to order one, or try to make your own.

Interesting. Maybe on the 1st gen? My '85 had a power moon-roof. But, if the 4Runner roof was removable, I suppose a manual option made more sense.

Not available at the dealership. I’ll find something somewhere.
