Bought a ‘95 with a known non-functioning tailgate window thinking it was a safety switch or motor…only to discover someone had been in there before me and there was NO MOTOR! Anyhow, I have thoroughly been able to diagnose everything else to determine the plug for the motor (blue plug)gets power up and down just fine, so I’m going to pick up a motor. But that being said does anyone have a pick of a regulator assembly with a motor in place they can post so I can see the system complete? I’m not sure what all they were keeping in place with all the zip ties. I’m also wondering what the blue actuator rod clip circled in red in the middle may go to? Or was it an option for something??? Thanks in advance all!

The purple clip looks to be a lockable clip that would connect to a latch or lock rod.
The open "C" part would lock a metal rod providing a mechanical connection to a secondary part, either a latch or locking mechanism.

Thanks, I’m familiar with the clips and how they attach, I am just not sure if it should attach to anything or if it is for something that maybe this application doesn’t have?

Not super familiar with that year model, knee jerk reaction is that a rod may be missing. This is just a guess going off the picture, Renegade15.

I was finally able to find a good pic of a used one on eBay, it does look like I am missing a rod. The previous owners creative use of zip ties looks to have fixed the issue…but I’d like things to function as appropriate as possible so I’ll see if I can bend a rod into place.

Update on this, I was able to find two good donor vehicles in the local pick and pull salvage yard and one had an in tact regulator. I found what the connector went too and also found the connection rod in the bottom of my tailgate cavity. Upon installing a new to me motor for $15 and reconnecting that rod, my tailgate and window is fully functional!
