Hello, I bought an amp and 2 subs second hand. They were working when I bought them I know this cause I witnessed them working. I have a 1991 4Runner and I’ve just tried installing the amp and 2 subs. I have the wiring correct. The stock speakers play sound but the new subs do not. The amp is powering on and has sufficient power to it. When testing the speaker outputs on the amp with a multimeter, they’re only putting out 0.02 volts What is my issue and how do I resolve it ?

Do you have them wired up mono. If so the amp might not be capable of running 2ohms stable?

What are you using as an input? Make sure you put a fuse around a foot off the battery, unless you want to do a little arc-welding?

My stereo is aftermarket so I am using rca cables from the stereo to the amp. And yes I have a fuse there.
I don’t really want to have to install a line output converter if I don’t have to. I bought the system all together second hand working.

Have you checked settings on your deck? I would also check the ground for your amp. Make sure it's metal to metal no paint. Are your RCA's plugged into the output and not input on the back of your deck? If you have pre outs on your deck you shouldnt need an output converter. What amp an subs are you running?

MAJOR SET BACK: I was moving my 4Runner out of the sun and the stereo wasn’t secure and one of the wires grounded itself and turned off the whole vehicle. It starts but the stereo isn’t turning on at all. What did I fuck up ?

O’ ya I forgot to mention. Make sure you have a fuse, a few inches from the head unit. Buy a Denon, best stereo on the planet!!!

Did you check the fuse on the back of the deck and the fuse for the radio in your fuse block?
