Same method for applying plastic shine. Side note, do not ever use tire shine on your engine. Use interior detailer, something like Meguiar's leather conditioner. Leaves a beautiful shine and lasts quite a while since under normal conditions very little water gets up under there. When doing your wash / detail, engine first, interior 2nd, exterior last. Keeps dust and overspray off the paint that way. I take detailing very seriously lol

I would have to disagree with using leather conditioner on the engine as they contain aloe and moisturizer oils. A water base product is the best for the plastics, rubber, vinyls and taped items under the hood.

Tire shine is a BIG no no under the hood some contain a petroleum base and don’t use armor all ever on anything....

I use Meguiar's Gold Class Rick Leather conditioner on everything. Dash, seats, plastics, everything top to bottom. It's my favorite treatment and it leaves an awesome shine on everything. A little goes a long way with that stuff.

It is great stuff just not under the hood and is most likely the best stuff on leather as designed. A lot of the interior on vehicles today are synthetic or composites and will damage easily with wrong chemical products.

I have never used chemical guys stuff so I can't speak on it either way. I can tell you I love Meguiar's professional grade stuff. I use their #7 glaze, yellow #26 pure wax, gold class car wash, along with a number of their other products. I have always been very happy with the results. I may try using their hyper dressing on the engine next time around.

I was feeling guilty with all your beautifully detailed engine bays so I had to pop the hood on it and clean it after this weekends trip!

All joking aside, I am washing it tonight as soon as it is out of the sun, probably won't touch the engine bay other than what I already did with the emblem and to change the air filter

    Hi Guys,
New to the forum and coming from the Land Rover world. Picked up a 2019 4Runner TRD ORP, love the truck. I am unable to start a new thread but wanted to ask a question concerning the TRD PRO wheels and KO2 (stock size) that I had installed at 700 miles. Is the amount of weight installed excessive here? On the driver's front? Truck has a steering wobble at speed, I have read into the issue with the 4Runners. But this weight seems excessively high.

That seems like a lot. I'm not a pro, but I've heard that when there is a lot of weight on a wheel like that you can ask the tire guy to spin the tire on the wheel and rebalance. Worth a try?

It is way to much, and the way you describe it it is still out. I am guessing you have a bad tire, but it could also be the wheel. I would have them re-balance it, and if that does not help, replace please.

It was supposedly road forced on install. I took it back because of the steering wobble and supposedly rebalanced again.

Taking it to a 4x4 place up the road to have them take care of it. Dealer trying to tell me it’s the KO2s

That's kinda typical for KO2s in my experience they tend to not balance as well and take more weight than other ATs. If your tire shop has a road force balancer ask them to road force balance the tires. You may have one that has excessive runout and should be replaced and warrantied if you haven't driven much on them. Or then could just need matched to the wheels so they balance out better than they are currently.

After they spin the tire on the rim, make sure the lug nuts are torqued to 85 ft lbs.

The three others took minimal weight.

Dealer installed these and said they were road forced. Going to a shop that does a lot of Tacomas and 4Runners.

Just looking at the weight amount I knew they were KO2's without even reading the text. I had a Very good shop re-balance etc. to get the shakes out and they found that two of the 4 that are on ours are out of round. Very typical for KO2's. I am surprised that they stacked them but the amount of weight is unfortunately very common for that tire.

One of my KO2's also has a lot of weight, just not that much. They spun the tire and rebalanced. The vibes completely disappeared after making sure each tire had about 32 pounds of air and especially when the lugs were torqued to 85 ft lbs. The torquing of the lugs is often overlooked but it's very important with these type of wheels.
