The reason for buying a 5th Gen 4R was that our 4th Gen 4R has been so damn reliable. In the 295,000 miles the only part that I replaced was the radiator, and it was easy to replace. Still runs great.

I use my rig for hunting, fishing, camping, trailing, everyday driver...
Had an 05 Limited (V8), then got an 07 Tundra... was a little big so went back to the 18 4runner ORP...
I've had excellent luck with Toyota, no major issues, just had to maintain... and the back window rolls down..!

7 seat belts and it will last 200k easily, even if I turn the keys over to my kids, who are still years away from driving

Had a 17 Tacoma that I “liked” but never really “loved”, but fell in love with the new 4Runner after looking at them for some time. We had an 03 4Runmer for years that was awesome too.

Because my wife knew what she wanted, which drove me to sell my 04 Tacoma and get a 17 TRD OR long bed Taco.

I bought a 2019 trd off road , why I bought it because well, I m not going to get into to much we know that it's reliable, durable etc , but for me honestly is the fact that it's made in Japan , which the workers have pride in what they produce , and build period ..... Cheers

Did you part out before selling / go back to stock or did you find a buyer to take the whole package?

The 2018 outback CVT transmission couldnt pull an 840 lb trailer without having issues, so we went straight to the dealer and tradded it for a 19' Off Road.

I parted out as much as I could. They got the shell and full rack, winch bumper, didn’t get the ultrahook though. I only have a few things left to sell but most of it disappeared pretty quick.

Wife just totaled her 14 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport last week hitting a deer, she’s always wanted a 4 runner, found this gem at my local Chevy dealer I deal with, 2019 TRD off road, 3600 miles on it, got it for 35,000 last night, we both love it with two young kids.

Now that my needs have changed and I don’t really need a bed, I’d love a Runner but I’ve got so much sunk into the taco a T4R seems like an unsound decision.

Traded in my '16 Tacoma Double Cab Short Bed for more usable interior space.
I got the 3rd row to seat 7.
I needed the interior space because of all the road trips my family takes.
No more stopping just to get out and grab things. Now someone just has to reach or crawl into the back.
This 4Runner is definitely a better made vehicle compared to the Tacoma IMHO.

Was looking for a mid size truck for road trips. After test driving Ranger, Colorado, and Taco, test drove the 4runner for fun while at the dealer. Ended up taking it home.

I needed a vehicle for good weather and bad. Snow and ice can occasionally be a problem in Kansas, and to keep things peaceful at home, I sold my 2007 Mustang GT to get the 4Runner and I couldn't be happier. Well, it makes it easier to take when you end up getting a Shelby a few months later to go with the 4Runner! Happy man here! :)

Because I liked the look, ability to navigate in snow, ability to off-road, reliability record, size, truck platform, etc
