I don't like the silver on my black rig. I had it on my Black 2004 Sport and now that I have it again on my 2019. I have to do something. I'm in the "no-chrome" group. I bought the plastidip, but haven't put it on yet. Worst thing that can happen is that I have to peal it off or have someone install proper valences. I also purchased the Pro grill/bar but haven't installed it yet. I want to gray out the letters on the back end of the rig to match the letters on the Pro Grill at the same time so that's slowing me down. It funny how I look at every T4R that I pass and look to see if they plastidiped their bumpers.... And still waiting for my SSO rack! Its been 71-days (10 weeks). Beginning of May I was told that the material was "laser cut, cnc bent" and at there facility for fabrication. Hmmm. :notsure:

Living la vida solo. Shit, I was up until 1:30am drinking and sawing. I didn’t use power tools (except drill) for it all and surprisingly it came out pretty damn square.

I think it would be pretty sharp if you painted the valences and badges the same color as your wheels.

The valances have been Xpel wrapped. So not an option.
It would look nice! I do agree.

Rattle can bedliner worked great. Just scuff it and go for it. I didn't take either of them off, just did my best to tape around. In hindsight I wish I would have put some paper or something in the gap between the valance and the bumper. I have a few spots that need be cleaned up and some that need a little more paint. Good luck if you do go for it. I think did five coats, each getting progressively heavier. There are some spots that if the light catches it you can tell are a little thicker, and sort of look like runs. I thought about the the Plasti-dip route, but it would just get beaten up with bugs and rocks.

Glad that's not on my list of states to move to lol Registration here cost me about $185 every 2 years which is crazy if you ask me. What exactly is the point of registration besides just a way to take more $ from the people?

I’m looking at using the red vinyl lettering on the black out overlay. I haven’t done it yet but will post as soon as possible.

I have not used this particular item, but have used many of his other products on my Tacoma and 4Runner. The guy that runs the company is pretty cool. It is just a piece of flat vinyl, it’s not an overlay, if you look at the emblems from the side it will be OEM color, it would be red and black from looking directly at it. You use the wet method to apply them so you can move the letters around to line them up, then lightly blot them to squeeze out the water and air bubbles. The vinyl used is pretty forgiving and he usually sends a couple extra to learn on. If you can finish off with a blow dryer or heat gun, it helps the adhesive stick better.

I have to concur about their customer service. Top notch. I ordered a few decals that I'll probably never use as it was my fault for ordering the wrong color. He offered to make it right even though it was my error. Then he went out of his way to send me a color sample to see if it was what I was looking for. In the end I opted for color matched paint in an aerosol can, but I was really hoping he had what I wanted because good customer service like that is hard to find.

I never liked the all red on my 4Runner Pro, so a few days ago I spray pained my fenders using a black satin. The work is definitely far from perfect, and I have some stuff I will try to "touch up"...but overall it was fun and I am happy with the look. I also learned a lot about using spray paint!

Thanks! Not bad for a hand saw, clamps, a level for a straight edge and quite a few beers.

Thinking I’m camping this weekend or else I’d spend the time sanding it down, wood fill, primer and coating it.

Ya, that does look good. I believe it was your rig that I got the idea. I just couldn't find your pictures. Since I have a black truck, and on the tailgate, I'm going to paint the letters grey to match the Pro Grill on the front, there's a small question on if I should paint the "Off Road" grey also. I'm need to get moving on one of these projects.
