My car is seeping tranny fluid at the bottom of the bell-housing. Where the transmission meets the engine block. Any ideas why?

    Maybe a rear main seal.

Are the oil drips brown or red?

That's what normally leaks in the front of the transmission. No matter what the trans. will have to come out to fix any leak in that location. If the fluid color is truly red, if not its a rear main seal and the trans. will still have to come out. Unless things have changed since I was a mechanic working on transmissions.
