2000, 3.4, 243k, So after work today I started it up and Immediately noticed a stumble in the idle, also seemed high. Put her in drive and it somewhat jerks into gear, wait to pull out into traffic while keeping it in neutral (in fear of it dying) then proceed home. Half the way it was struggling and had poor performance. Sometimes I feared it wouldn't make over the over passes. Get to the stop lights in traffic and it starts to stumble again, I put it in neutral again hoping to keep it running so I didn't break down...Get home and immediately changed the fuel filter as well as cleaned out the throttle body. Filled up my gas tank and still notice the stumble/miss. The only thing I've done is pcv valve and a can of Seafoam through the last tank. Any ideas? I'm dumbfounded...Just got this 4runner as my Cadillac required to much to keep on the road. My wife is like "Oh no, not again"

sounds like it's due for a tune up, there are other reasons for stumbling, but if you don't know the tune up history I'd start with that.

Check Engine light came on first thing this morning...misfire cylinder 4. Pulled the wire and checked for spark, it was good. Pulled the plug and with some resistance it finally came out. Normal wear so I put it into the wire and rested it against the master cylinder to check for spark. Normal... Reinstalled and noticed the check engine light went off, no more stumble...ok... Test drive and she seems fine. Confused and content for now. Tune up is in the near future.
