Rear key will roll window up but not down

I have a rear key that rolls the window up but wont roll it down, i can roll it down fine from the switch in the center console so i know the motor is good. im thinking it might be the wiring in the key switch in the tailgate might be disconnected or messed up but havent opened it up. any similar issues or suggestions, so when i go to do it i have more than one thing to check, are greatly appreciated.

I would check the wiring coming from the key switch. If they are not secured, the window can catch the wires. If wiring looks ok, the actual electrical switch on the back of the cylinder will pop right off. It can easily be swapped with one from the pull-a-part. I think you can get to it with the window up. You can open the gate and trip the latch closed and the operate the window back up and work on it. Also a jumper pack or battery jumped to the motor wires to operate window is useful at pull-a-part. I sneak in a small jump box or 12v battery. I have got a spare switch if you need. Good time to check the window brackets too. They always rust out. Don’t put stickers on back window. The side with stickers on mine was completely rusted and fell apart. I’m pretty sure the sticker would carry water down.
