FC0AD1B6-3808-4038-89DC-B6DFE2871967.jpgI can confirm. It’s almost too funny how well it does fit.

As I have no use for that tray, besides the above use for dog waste bags (wife agrees. Perfect place). I am not sure how I noticed this (my OCD).
Anyway, someone mentioned that it was the ash tray. I don't believe that is correct as I have seen on the Toyota website one of those ashtrays that looks like a Coffee mug with a hole in the middle.
I snapped this picture on YouTube & shows one factory use for it.
The cigarette lighter! Because the truck only has 250 already! I know they likely won't heat a lighter (different plug).
    Anyway... my findings! LolScreenshot_20190409-233953_YouTube.jpg

Just looks like a ring sitting in there. Maybe a wedding band

    Good eye!
I didn't zoom in. It was in a YouTube review video & I thought it was factory. The guy probably took it off as to not scratch the car.

This brings up a good question.
In other markets, where is the cigarette lighter in this vehicle?

    What is this tray... lol

Mine is way too big for quarters. They would just rattle & drive me nuts.
We bought a center counsel divider for change, loose items etc. $10 on Amazon.

I’ve thought about notching it out and trimming it to see if I can fit some rocker switches or even a switchpro

Yeah good idea, just trim off the parts that stick up and put the switch pro controller over top it all. Probably would work well.

That slot seems like a good opportunity for someone with a 3d printer to come up with something that adheres in the opening with 3m tape that holds a phone or something useful.

You high-fallutten TRD folks have your pen trays stunted by your fancy schmancy joy sticks. If you could only humble yourselves like us SR5ers you'd have a full length tray and no worries at all.;)

Actually, to an extent he is right.
After some Google images I found a picture of a long one.
It is the ones with the 4wd knob as opposed to the shifter. The shifter makes it useful (in terms of writing items) for golf pencils only!
Now I think we have all the ways to use "this tiny tray" lol
But wait, there is a pen holder in the arm rest... Maybe you do "put your weed in it" LMAO

That tiny tray is much to small to hold weed.

I need the center console to store my brick. :rasta:

How old is your garage door opener?

Some of the older ones require you to press some button on the garage door opener itself in order to talk to the Homelink button. Mine needed to be done this way.

Well, there’s your problem. You’re over qualified. My old house had a newer garage door opener with home link and it took me about a minute to have mine up and running.

    Great.
Now I have to try mine again... :frustrated:
Opener is only a couple years old.
Time to find that manual or go online.

IMG_20190413_084750.jpg All right everybody, this is thread may have ruined my life a little! Never in my life have I read the entire service manual looking for information like this! Long story short, they tell you what a cup holder is and show the tray in the picture but do not mention it. I don't know if Toyota even knows what it's for! Haha!

The tray was not made for this but a guy on here mounted a ball in it for one of those cell phone / tablet / CB mounts. Made it a multi-use base.
