timing belt replacement

    what is the normal time frame/milage range on replacing timing belts also can a failure of a belt ruin the engine

    No longer than 100k miles and you might as well do the accessory belt, upper cooling hose, and water pump at the same time if it’s your third+ timing belt.

    Assume your asking about the 98 or 99 and not the 2014. If they have a non-interference engine you should not have catastrophic damage should the belt break while the engines running. I believe but don't quote me (try to google it) those years are non-interference. There's way more knowledgeable folks on this site that can probably chime in.

    90k +- 5k is what I would shoot for. Others have made it much longer but I’m not a fan of flirting with danger. The 5VZFE is a non interference engine. A break may not damage anything but could leave you stranded and be costly.
