p0773 shift solenoid code

This just came up on my 3rd Gen ('99) OBD says P0773 or "e" shift solenoid. Anyone ever had this issue or know how to fix it thanks for any and all help!

 

**follow up** did research on this subject followed all steps, replaced trans fluid and 3 solrnoids accessible through trans pan. Fixed the issue for about a week now I'm throwing the same code. At about 70mph the truck acts as if it's down shifting and runs from 2300 rpm to about 2700. Happens after OD has been engaged after a while or I hit a bump or pothole. Really needing some more advice on the matter an and all info is appreciated!

 

Hello, just curious if you found out what your issue was? I have the same problem happening now. I just replaced the 3 solenoids and the trans filter. about 100 miles later, the po773 code popped up again. I dont know what to do next. it shifts and drives just fine. thanks!

 

Might sound silly but go get your engine and transmission mounts checked. If your engine and transmission are jerking around a lot when you're shifting into drive the force from that could be triggering that type of error code. Had something similar on my '08 Lincoln last fall. It was a similar code and we could get it to go away for a week or two but it always came back. Finally noticed that every time I threw it into drive it made a hard knock jerking grinding noise that was getting progressively worse. Took it in and they told me they could move the engine with a 2x4 prying on it. They replaced one mount I think and the code never came back for the next 60 days I had it before I traded it in.
