Hello everyone! Long time lurker, first time poster.

I'm finally trading the 2012 F150 for a 2019 4Runner. Problem is we like the badass look of the TRD Pro but have an SR5 Premium budget. ;-) (Plus the most off-road we'll do is gravel roads in Northern Saskatchewan visiting my brother's fishing lodge)

I'd love to see what people are doing to make their 4Runners shine! Pics and ideas (or links to other threads) please!

ETA: Am now the proud owner of a red TRD Off Road Premium w KDSS (dealership made me an offer I couldn't refuse). Kind of digging the stock wheels so am not moving so quickly to trade for the black TRD ones yet. Hubby dislikes the TRD pro grill so that's out. Waffling btwn running boardish skid plates vs nfab Nerf Bar.

Yep - total newbie at modding here so love all the suggestions just to get started even thinking about it! The side mirrors thing is a great idea - I've gotten used to the blind spot side mirrors on my truck and will miss them. (bahahahaaa re: gunner's cupola)

    Your rig is so purty!

Just looking to see what people are doing. Not interested in lifting at this time. I like the blackout look - found this on reddit - guess it's a factory option in the SE US?? https://i.redd.it/8dxwh94vj5z11.jpg

You can blackout the emblems with a fairly inexpensive kit from Toyota. The black TRD wheels pictured there are pretty inexpensive, and you can even do the TRD Pro grille look for little money if you don’t mind buying a knockoff part. If you miss your blind spot mirrors, the RAV 4 mirrors with built in blind spot are a direct swap. I’ve got an sr5 premium as well, and it’s plenty capable.

Does anyone know if the 2019 4R mirrors are still the same as the other 5th Gens?

Greetings from Boston, facing salty winter driving conditions with a new vehicle, I’d say get a complete Fluid Film undercarriage spray and do yearly touchups. I got mine done for about $250 (from feedback, this is a really good price). I’m talking about going to a guy with a lift and him removing spare tire and skip plates, spraying the crap out of undercarriage, not me crawling under rig with a spray can. Google for a dealer... it will smell funny only a little while. Other fun things to do:

Aries all weather mats, I find these less slippery than Weathertech
Carista key fob reprogram, a personal favorite – $25, get the free 1 week trial membership
    Viper Remote starter

TRD forged billet aluminum oil cap and radiator cap; yes, you need these – JDM on ebay
LED puddle, mirror & cargo area
    Kat's thermal battery wrap
Bilstein 5100s up front to level lift

OEM hitch cover, would everyone please get one of these, $10, my OCD is raging
    JoyTutus glove box organizer
Scuba mod with ARB Diff Breather kit…you never know
Lamin-X yellow fog light covers with Calais extremely bright H11 yellow LEDs
    Lift gate sticker mod

Seems like nearly everyone puts a Pro grill and Pro wheels on their non Pro 4runner.

From '14+ it is the same. From '10-'13 are different but can be used on 2nd gen Tacomas.

I'd say get the Off Road Premium but I'm bias

Kings with adjusters, 33" ST Maxx, LFD full rack, RCI full steel skids, etc.... Each mods were worth every penny haha

Wow! Thanks for all the details. I lived in Montreal for 10 years and remember all too well having to get the spray (this was in the 90s and they'd drill holes in your undercarriage/joints/whatever (clearly I'm no mechanic) to protect from corrosion. They'd warranty their work as long as you did it every year. That city's winters were BRUTAL to vehicles with all the wet salty roads. I'm guessing Boston is the same. Now I'm in Seattle where the city literally shuts down if we get an inch of snow - and little old cars from the 70s and 80s whose bodies fell apart in rusty heaps back east years ago look brand new from spending their life here. My neighbor has a Toyota 1/4 ton circa 1989 and it's spotless.
