Honestly, they are awful. The vehicle we traded in came with HID's from the factory that swiveled around corners and self leveled. They were incredible headlights. Unfortunately, the vehicle was shite off-road. That is why we traded it in for our 4Runner.

I have 2 things that I want to ask.
    1) Does anyone else find it odd that the bulbs go in sideways rather than pointing towards the front? I have never seen this design before and I find it super strange
    2) Xenondepot has some LED bulbs I would like to try. I don't want to make any modifications to the dust cap so I am wondering if anyone has LED headlights in their T4R, what your opinion is as far as comparability to the stock halogen bulbs (before and after pics would be awesome if you have them) and if the are able to cool the way they need to with the dust cap locked into place.

    These are the one's I'm eyeing. https://www.xenondepot.com/H11-Xtreme-LED-kit-pro-p/xt-led-h11-pro.htm

    Thanks everyone!

Our last car had fixed HID but still HID.
I have found no good solutions for the headlights. Not sure how well LED bulbs work in a projector housing (if it aims or sits right.
This is my solution for the fog lights. Since they are closer to the road I am hoping this will be enough. Then I just need to change factory bulbs to match color (I am a little OCD!)

Diode Dynamics make good LED bulbs from what I have heard. No experience.
    If that helps...

Thank you! I want to do the Fog lights as well. A friend has a 2016 Taco and he put the Led bulbs in his fog lights. They are insanely bright.

HIDs are better for the headlights. My entire HID system cost $78

Do you know what brand of LED bulb he used or was it a whole assembly replacement?
No problem. Lighting is a necessary safety upgrade to us!

$78 for a HID setup! That is a great price.
How long have you been running them & have you had any problems?

I was about to ask the same thing. I also just asked what brand of LED bulbs he got. He put them in the stock fog light housing.

I've found high performance halogen H11's to be the best for me. Philips Xtreme vision +100's from Amazon are like $30 and have a life of 400hrs (~2 years for me).

GE Megalight +130's from Powerbulbs.com are brighter but bulb life is 150hrs. Very bright bulbs and I'm runing them now. Nearly as bright as an H9 in testing. I think a couple amazon sellers have them too but I'd trust powerbulbs over the amazon sellers. They're also available on eBay from several European vendors.

Running these Lightening Darks in low/high and got a set for my fogs this week.

Very bright. Very clean. Very happy. Rarely have to use bright beams because the lows carry really well.

This is me flipping back and forth between my 40,000 lumen bar and my set low beams. (high beams aroun2:15 mark)

I have the Xenon Depot Phillips HIDS and they are very bright. Also have the Phillips yellow fog bulbs for the fogs. Both of these are good upgrades, especially when Xenon Depot runs a sale.

    Wally (Mike),
What combo or lighting setup are you currently using? That may have been mentioned earlier. It has been a long day.
    Sorry if a duplicate question.

Okay, I know I am not the OP.
However I have one request. I am looking for all soft white or blue on the color scale.
While I like the yellow lights; it is my wife's DD vehicle. Therefore, what I like doesn't matter! Lol
If we could get pics & thoughts on anyone's current setup, that would be awesome!
I love the "raptor" lights but couldn't talk her into it in 100 yrs. "No yellow"
I need a color closer to HID blue or close.
    I ask a lot I know...
Just pics & products. Likes & problems if any.
Hopefully I am helping & not hijacking the thread...
    Ryan.

I don’t like these LED’s. I try and take a relaxing drive at night, and a space ship spot light coming at me like the Melinium Falcon!! Especially if they are behind me. I think they are raising inspections in my area just for overpowered low beams....

Anyone know where I might find headlights like this?
I have no social media. I am tech old apparently!
    This is off Pinterest.
    Any direction would be appreciated.
I feel like I am hijacking the thread but we are talking about lights...
    Thanks as always!
Also, I noticed we bought our 4runner 3 days before the group buy for the Morimoto group buy expired. Just my luck...Screenshot_20190323-210259_Pinterest.jpg

The Philips H11/H16 LED fogs are awesome. They're like $130 on Amazon. Plug and play. TONS brighter than stock. I put yellow laminX over my lenses and they're awesome.

You mentioned morimotos. I thought that group buy was for fogs. Maybe I'm mistaken.

Yes, I mentioned the morimoto fogs.
Had a few responses and suggestions on them. Very intrested still. I missed the group buy!
Then I found the pic of the custom headlights.
I am on a search for the best lighting option possible while not blinding the people in front of me...
    Thanks for your help !
