Your opinion please

So we bought our 4Runner about a week ago used from a local non Toyota dealer. When we bought it we noticed some scratches on the front bumper. The salesman wrote us an “we owe you” work order and my 4Runner is set to go back to the dealer next week so they can fix the scratches on the front bumper. I noticed today a lot of scratches on the bottom side of ge front bumper. We didn’t say anything about these and I am worried they may not fix this part. Now to my question lol, I was thinking about buying the lower valence to cover the scratches. Thoughts? How hard are they to install? Thanks

 

Let the dealership replace it. I won’t spend a dime for the damage you didn’t do. Just a penny thought.

 

My only concern is, we did buy a used vehicle you know? But I am defintely going to ask them to fix it. Thanks for replying

 

Depending on what you paid I wouldn’t care it’s cosmetic and if you Offroad it you will get scratches there anyway.

 

There’s no harm in trying to have them fix it so you can save up a lil $$$ for some mods.

 

It will never go off-road. It my wife’s DD. Wish it was mine lol

I would buy the valence and be done with it. Those scratches cannot be fixed the bumper cover would have to be replaced.

Look on trail4runner.com. Some guy came up with a really slick way of installing the valence panel without removing or cutting up the bumper. It’s in the write-up section.

 

Those sure don't look "fixable" to me. If you can feel a scratch with a fingernail, they're generally too deep to safely remove without blowing through the clear coat.

 

The fixable are just some surface scratches near the top.

 

The dealer needs to take care of that. Make them replace it. An Welcome!
