I have a 2016 white 4Runner SR5.. All stock except wheels are 265/70 R17 with the black/red TRD rims.. (trd rims were added by previous owner but the car isn’t the TRD package, just SR5) I want a more beefy look with some height but worried my wheels may look too small? No chance of new wheels anytime soon so I’m debating between Bikstein 5100 at 1.5 on the front to level it out, Toytech 3in Lift, or the Rough country 3in... will adding a lift with my tire size be too odd? Or Stick with just a leveling kit? Mostly highway use with light off-roading.. my previous car was a Jeep wrangler so I’m not really concerned with “improving” the way this car rides as I am satisfied. Simply just looking to add some height without looking dorky with my tire size. Any input or photos matching what I’m going for?

    Thanks!

This is my opinion, but I think the stock tires are already too small for the stock height. I think 275's would look much better. That being said, do what you need to do to make your truck the way you want it. Think long term over short term.

Bilstein 5100s or Eibach adjustable shocks might be a really good option for you because you can level out your truck now by setting the fronts to 1.75" and leaving the tires stock for a while. This is what I have right now too, and although it's not exactly how I want it, it works fine. Once you have money for larger tires, you can bump up the front shocks to 2.5" in the front and a taller coil in the rear to get your desired ride height. This way you won't have to buy another lift.

Trust me, if I could get 275’s at the moment I would! Unfortunately not in the cards right now.. I’ve been learning towards 5100’s.. do you think I need anything on the rear or leave it?

Also here is a current photo... I will be removing the running boards tomorrow which will make it look a tad higher at least .. for some reason I just don’t like how there’s not much room above my wheels, to the fender...

If you lift the front somewhere between 1.6" - 1.75", you will get more space from the tire to the fender. This will level the truck, so no need to lift the back in this scenario. Then when you get bigger tires, you can go up another notch in the front and get some longer coils to lift the rear.

Do you like a stiffer ride on the road or something a bit closer to the stock ride? The reason I ask is because Bilstein 5100s will be on the stiffer side. Eibach adjustable shocks will feel really nice on the road, but still be positive and capable offroad.

I'll have pics next week of my Wife's truck on 5100's set to 2.5 in the front with 1.5 spacers on the rear. Truck will be on 265/70/17 tires so you can get an idea of what the look will be if you don't go up in tire size.

i think your 4runner looks sharp. i have a 3in rough country lift and stock p265 tires on mine for now. i dont think it looks terrible lol some people might disagree. but i do plan on putting some aftermarket wheels and some p285 tires on it.20181225_144125.jpg 20181225_144155.jpg

Thanks for posting this lift on 265's photo. It looks great. Gave me reassurance that my set up I'm installing this weekend was going to look good. I was questioning not buying the 275's.

I started the install last night after work. Got the 5100's, wheel spacers and tires on the front. Looks like I'm going to be trimming a little plastic, but I'll wait until the rear lift and tires are on before the final verdict. I'll finish up the rear this afternoon. Here's a one wheel teaser

Creating a new thread for my newly discovered issue. Probably related to the hub centric wheels.

The Eibach Pro kit raises the back one inch and levels the front it also will adjust in front if you want to add armor or winch later. The Eibachs shocks are tuned for the 4 Runner and they are getting so well known they can’t make them fast enough. Plus they are very affordable for most.

I think it's way better. I liked the way the truck handled prior to the changes, but now I think it feels extra plush when driving. Took the whole family out yesterday and the Wife did all of the driving, she likes it too!

Super! I had meant to ask if you think that my wife would like it, but, you asked and answered that question for me. I think that your lift setup will work best for me.

Do you plan on adding higher gears, in order to offset the lift height and bigger tires?

Nice ride you have there....I am interested in this kit, I have a few questions, and any other thoughts you have about it would help...thanks...

So how did this change the ride from stock?

What clip is yours on with that bumper setup and how many levels are there?

Can it carry more in the back or does it still sag with any weight back there?

Is there a way to set it up with some front rake?

Did you get upper control arms with this?

Asking cuz it looks like the kit raises the front 2.75 inches.

Thank you so much for all the reply’s and photos everyone! Sorry I’m just now getting back.. I ended up purchasing the Daystar 2.5 lift.. still will be on my stock tires but got my running boards off and I think it looks much better already! Lift will be on in the first week of March and I will update Unrelated question, is there anything anyone knows of to fill in the gap between my ‘folded down back seat’ and the back of my front seats? If I keep the second row seats slide as far back but folded down, there is about a foot gap.... if I slide the 2nd row forward, there becomes a gap between my 2nd row and 3rd row. I have a German Shepherd who likes to lay as close to the drivers seat as possible which leaves a horrible mess in the floor board of my 2nd row... any suggestions?

No Sir, the lift is minimal, probably more of a "leveling kit" really.

The wheels are the same as stock only 1.5 inches wider with zero offset. The tires are the same as stock as well 265/70/17.

Great. I’ll let her read your thread in order to convince her that she will love the ride and it is necessary for my 4Runner. :). Thanks for your info sharing.
