I have seen the Nightshade Edition and I am SURPRISED that toyota didnt at the very least black the tail lights out like they did on these DEPO Tail Lights

I'm gonna try and tint mine in the summer. I dont mind the front head lights, so much, but the rears,.. ugh I'm a bit shocked someone hasn't made a replacement housing aftermarket wise. They are huge, hang out way way to much, and imho, just ugly as shit.

That is what my post was, Im surprised that someone actually made the exact tail lights some of my 4runner friends been asking for. Imma just get em to mod my girls car but I wanna see other peoples feedback. I wouldn't want to tint em cuz i wanna stay away from attracting cops but the housing being blacked out makes it look just as good imo

Nah its def not the same. someone can correct me if im wrong but tinting or getting something smoked, your mitigating the light output created by the lights. Which is why it is "illegal", and why I just dont feel like dealing with a fix it ticket. If you tint or wrap it yourself, you STILL have the inner chrome standing out like a sore thumb and may do a "Eh" job where as these are completely blacked out on the inside housing. Removing the chrome, giving it a factory look (clean look), and still having a Clear lens. That means I aint gonna be bothered about my lights and still have max output on the lights.

Id think they are two totally dif style imo

Didn't understand why the lights had the chrome on it. Then I just noticed that the lug nuts are chrome as well. So...... just ordered 24 SCS SPLINE LUGS black of course. So on there way.

Now what do i do about the chrome Toyota symbol on the rims??

Could you take another picture during the day from a little further back to give a bit more perspective? I'd really appreciate it!

it's weird, but I didn't see these pictures last night when on my laptop. Someone else had posted other pictures with their black 4runner and it was dark. Your pictures are a lot better though. One like your last picture, standing 45 degrees from the read bumper would be great from the other side if possible. the current one kind of has a glare. Thank you!

Cost me $39 to have them shipped from SoCal to TX via FedEx ground. Very pricey shipping.

Looks like they use FedEx 2 day shipping. I'm guessing you can change that if you call them.

These things are packaged to withstand the apocalypse, but with everything else illegal and band in California to save the planet you would think Styrofoam peanuts would be as well. Lights look great.

Do you have to use the original housing?

    Are these the 'guts' only?

Checked the site but it isn't completely clear.

    Thanks!

Does anyone who swapped to these new taillights want to sell your original taillights?

I have a buddy who is looking for a clean set of OEM taillights.

    Thanks!

I'd be up to sell my tail lights when my Kustom 54 tail lights get to me (should be next week). How much is he willing to pay for them? They are 2 months old practically brand new (car wash weekly).

Received my tail lights yesterday and I plan to install them this weekend. From what I understand, you just need to remove the 2 nuts in the access panel from the rear of the assembly and tug really hard to pop them off. Any tips to ensure I don't snap or break anything? Would it be a good idea to mask the paint around the headlights to prevent unwanted scratches? TIA
