Hello everyone I am on the hunt for my third 3rd gen 4runner. I always had issues with rust on my previous ones (rusted frame,rockers,etc.). I am from Montreal quebec, the king of salt roads and harsh winters. This time I am ready to travel to purchase the right one (e-locker,highlander edition). But I am looking for information before I do the move. So i got a few questions for the ones that went with this procedure :
    - How far did you go?
    - Did you travel by airplane one way and drove back or used a transport shipping company
    - How did it went when importing thru the border (from usa to canada)
    - The procedure for payment (for either dealer or private seller)

Thank you, really looking forward for answers. Pics of my last 2 4runners for attention

I went about 800 miles to get my 88. Everything depends on budget and your willingness to get what you want. Flew there drove home. Paid cash on the spot after test drive and looking it over

Florida has some of the cleanest 3rd gens for under 4k. Frame rust is almost non-existent on runners down here! I have owned two 3rd gens, both in perfect condition and both under 4k. My brother owns a 3rd gen also and scored his for 2500! I can post plenty of ads for you in Florida to prove this, but if you are that serious about traveling south then really just check out the local ads around Tampa, Florida for yourself! Some great deals these last few months!

I’d agree with @Connerliam head way south or out west to find really clean ones. Good luck on the hunt!
