Anyone see this yet? IF any of this is true it sounds like the 4 will basically stay the same but get a new drive train. 3.5 Camry motor MAYBE??

A dealer is the most reliable source out there.

All rumors until Toyota actually shows it.

Yeah I know it's all rumors but it is fun to rap about it. If the Taco is not all new that will be 15 years with the same frame. Drum brakes in back. Crazy because the Ford Ranger is a lot better and I feel even the Colorado is a better truck than the current Taco.

If the 4 gets the Camry motor, I won't be buying a 4 ever again. Just keeping what I have or...

If any of the Tundra stuff is true it may be a haymaker from Toyota to the big 3. I'm kind of excited about the Tundra rumors in that video.

I don’t mean to be argumentative here but let’s think this through.

The Tacoma will not be all new. It was redone with new drive train in 16. This will be a mid model update like the 4Runner did in 14.

The 4Runner will not get a Camry engine. It will likely be very similar to the current Tacoma. Agreed, screw that.

The tundra is a guessing game until it hits the auto shows. It’s time for a ground up new tundra. I hope it is a show stopper.

The Tacoma has the Camry motor now. 3.5 liter, high rpm car motor with some bs electronic crap that mimics an Atkinson cycle in certain situations.. So tired of Toyota relying on their reputation and not updating these vehicles in a timely fashion. I understand it's really not Toyotas fault as the Tacoma outsells them all at this point so why update it? Stupid customers! :D An the Taco is an ok truck.... The problem is, as I stated, the Ranger and Chevy are better and I know Toyota can do way better. Same chassis for fifteen years! Drum brakes! Horrible ergonomics. Way lower towing/hauling capability than the competition. Come on Toyota!

If I was buying a midsize now it would be the Ranger hands down. An as I have stated elsewhere, I have owned 9 Toyotas and 4 of those were Tacomas. So I do have a love for Toyotas but my eyes have been opened here lately. Toyota needs to step up their game big time.

We had our annual auto expo in Utah last month and I checked out the "new" Ranger. Even though it's technically an older truck I liked it. I'd have to drive one but seeing both the Taco and the Ranger in the same room and having driven and ridden in my brother's '16 Taco, I'd get the Ranger over the Taco. That 3.5 is hot trash.

My family has owned a LOT of Toyotas. We're Toyota people. But we also had an old E350 van with the V10 and that thing was bulletproof. Most reliable vehicle my parents have ever owned, including the Toyotas.

Drum brakes in 2019 is ridiculous I only expect drums in entry-level cheap P.O.S. vehicles and even their getting harder and harder to find. Even the Runner doesn't change much year after year (body-wise.) Although I was attracted to it because it looked "trucky" Don't like the same old rounded wind tunnel approved vehicles of the day. Oh well change is change I guess, you can hop on the band wagon or get run over by it.

Toyota loves sharing engines across models, I would fully expect the next gen 4Runner to have some version of the Tacoma's 3.5L engine. I'll keep hoping they make a real TRD Pro with a 5.7L, but I know it'll never happen.
