What's sup guys, I'm going to get a head start and make my build thread. I am the owner of a millennium silver 2001 toyota 4runner, which I purchased less than a year ago for $5,500. The downside is its 2WD :(. But I don't do much heavy mudding and I would like to make it a more trail type of rig, but it's up in the air ATM. Below is a list of things I have done so far.

I look forward to sharing some upcoming updates for the build on the new 4Runner site :)

    Modifications

    Suspension:

    Revtek 3" Suspension lift kit
KYB MonoMax Heavy Duty Monotube Shocks

    Exterior:
    HyperionLED 42" Lightbar
    KC Lights
    Custom built tube bumper
    GlowProLED Grille lights (Red)

    Wheels&Tires
    Hankook Dynapros M/T
    Tacoma Wheels

Below is a picture of the 4Runner online for sale

    image.jpg

And here is a current up to date picture of my 4Runner

So to start off the build presentation, I'd like to begin with the tube bumper I built with my good friend Ethan, we worked on it for a total of 2 days... Lol. It isn't the greatest thing, but it'll hold me down until I get a more professional built tube bumper. Anyways, I talked about building a custom bumper with my friend Ethan of several months before we actually decided to go ahead with it, and this is the reasonwhy (below)image.jpg

I was doing some "off-roading" in Humble, Tx when I gunned it down a trail and hit an unexpected dip in the run. And So it began

Next up was the lift, which I installed with 2 of my friends. Total, it took 10 hours for us to put on the Revtek lift kit spacers, which I spent $417 on. I don't recommend suspension spacers and if I could go back in time a lift it with shocks and etc; I would.

After typing this entire thing I realized that I couldn't upload pics from my phone so I'll have some up in a couple of hours. :)

So got my shocks like a week ago, then attempted to install them 2 days ago, installation was terrible since we stayed up till 12 on a school nut trying to rush and throw the new KYB Shock onto Jaeger. We only managed to get on KYB strut on due to the amount of time it took removing the factory one and then assembling the after market into the coil, and plus the stop at autozome for spring compressors.
The Red KYB strut looks amazing with the Black coil. After taking the 4runner back home I noticed that the ride was stiff and hitting cracks in the road made a squeaking sound and felt hard. This was probably due to us not applying some of the bushings to the strut. Anyways I took my 4runner to the shop today with one KYB Strut on and the other inside my car, they will redo everything and assemble it back. Here is a pic of how it looked with the KYB monoshock in image.jpg

So I invested in 2 inch wheel spacers off of eBay for around 100 for a set of 4. Here some picks off what it turned out to look like. The picture below shows how much the front wheels stick out with spacers compared to the back that didn't have spacers on at the time

Be careful with all spacers, but especially eBay spacers. I think it's safe to assume you've seen the outcome of over/under torqued spacers, which are usually GOOD quality spacers (i.e. SpiderTrax). Now, a poor quality (or even just not as GOOD) spacer is probably going to be a bit more prone to that happening. It looks great though! (I'm not trying to give you that old words of wisdom type talk, but really just trying to make sure you're aware of the issues with a well made spacer, and that you think about whether or not the eBay spacer's quality is good enough for daily/highway driving, as most don't).

Edit: I'd also like to keep this forum sheared off wheel pic free.

Yeah thanks for the heads up. Your right, ATM I'm starting to question the quality of these eBay spacers. While trying to take off one of my tires lug nuts of the spacer one of the lug snapped off with the lug nut lol. So idk

So this weekend I went to Texas Offroad Ranch I'm Huntsville, Texas with my Curb Crawler. Camped out over night with some guys and hit up the trails in my 2wd. I didn't expect the sand to be that much of a challenge at some points but nevertheless I got some good wheeling in and came out with some branch scratches and minor dents on the tailgate. image.jpgimage.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

Damn that's cheap. I paid $75 for me and Alex at hidden falls. It's $40 for 2 days plus $15 for camping. Then $20 for a passenger

yeah i mean it was with a cool group of guys and the trails were gnarly as shit. not worth 75 but still fun. I'd rather get a big group and go to TORR.

Took my truck to a meet for the first time in a while w/ Trav4Runner and a couple of other Frontline Members. On another note, I'm thinking that my next project should be making or buying a front tube bumper w/ a stinger. If anyone knows a place besides addictedoffroad and savageoffroad that makes bumpers that aren't supper expensive then please let me know :)
