Bought front and rear dash cams since my wife got hit in the neighborhood from someone running a stop sign. Other party claimed she ran the stop but there was a witness. Jagoff.

Went with the FitCamx for an OEM look.

...^^^... Hey, thanks for that info. Sounds like you got a good installer too. I think they are 'hit & miss" kinda like oil change guys.

I will look into that process ... and check out Best Buys.

Appreciate how you explained the difference between the no amp-to-amp upgrade too.

Might do the amp upgrade too as I like decent tunes.

Just received it this morning and installed after work. Install was straight forward. OEM cover was easy to slide off and the FitCamx slid on easily. The additional wires fit snug within the cover. I left the power wire outside of the housing and tucked it up under the headliner. You can’t see it from the driver or passenger seat. If you look straight up you can slightly see it. Ok, even for how particular I am.

The rear cam wire run was easy as well. I was careful not to pull on the headliner too much. The rear side curtain airbag was a bit snug at the headliner, I just took my time to not jack anything up.

I temporarily secured the rear cam to the grommet that holds the headliner with the provided 2 sided tape. I will likely need find a more permanent mounting method.

I watched a YouTube video where a guy 3d printer a small plastic mount to secure to the headliner and then mounted the cam to that.

it took two tries to get the camera to register to the app, even with cellular off. I rebooted my phone and shut the rig off and turned it back on and it worked as expected.

I got the 4k front camera with the polarizer, because why not.

Recording setting options are 1 minute or 3 minute clips, I choose 3.

There is a sensitive setting where the cameras will turn on if the vehicle is hit while parked. I have not tested that yet.

For now, I’m happy with the $300 purchase. My main concerns were an OEM look with high quality video. Seems to check the boxes. I’m not thrilled with the rear camera attached to the headliner or seeing it while looking in the rear view, but I’ll have to get over it.

Today I realized I have a heated steering wheel. Never realized that button was right underneath the push-button start since it's hidden ever-so-slightly out of my immediate view.
Pushed it - yep - the steering wheel heated up. Great! Now that I know it's there, I'll probably never use it again.

"Finally installed my dr kdss botck shorty, not sure I really needed it as I have 2-2.5 inch lift, but was an excuse to cut some metal, and use Santa’s torque wrench

What have you noticed in handling with it installed?:"

Honestly.. I think it is better.. but that totally could be me making up feelings because I changed things and was looking for results (kinda like when I change my air filter and feel like there's more power).. I've have not had it offroad yet.. but I'm fairly sure that when I hit bumps while some side load that there's less wiggle. So I'm glad I did it.. even if I'm making up the benefit in my head.

I opted to go with the Dobinson's adjustable panhard bar, and like crob42 said to me it rides better. Was it 100% needed? Maybe not, but then again how many mods have I now done that might not be 100% needed?

Mrs. 94hokie tends to disagree, it always takes a bunch of convincing to get them done but so far so good.

I've thought about doing this mod for awhile now. What is the cost of this and was it an easy install? I wonder if it works on a 2023.

Red's harness was $125, display if new from a dealer runs high $300 to mid $400. Instructions are detailed w/good pics & diagrams. Harness is plug/play. Took couple hours, mostly in tearing dash apart.

Put 1 cubic yard of compost down on most of the yard. I never pulled a trailer before, but great experience. I will rent one anytime I need to move something dirty or bulky.
