    Oooh look, another mod.....
I remember when that vehicle first launched. There were commercials and ad's EVERYWHERE for it. For several weeks/months. Then the crappy Dodge quality kicked into high gear. Now? No commercials or ad's about that rolling turd.

I suspect that thing will go the way of the Ford Pinto.

Or, since a lot of American consumers seem to think that more cylinders = more better, maybe they'll start making small displacement V8's again. :D

    Bring back the Dodge Viper

....I almost bought one in the beginning of Covid. Some used vipers were 20k for low miles. Then the used market went insane. Ohhhhhh regrets..

What the EPA or California says is not the only thing Toyota considers when selecting which engines to use.

Toyota could have sold the 1HZ in any configuration before 1998 because California didn't smog diesels until then, yet they didn't. Toyota had a V10 and a V12 sitting around too, yet they're extremely rare. Toyota could have put the V6 in the new Land Cruiser, it would have done a better job to set it apart from the 4runner, but they didn't.

All of these are examples of different reasons Toyota might choose not to sell an engine here: customer demand, practicality, and brand positioning. It's unlikely to happen in the 4runner because that would mean the buyer of the Land Cruiser and Lexus GX would now expect a V8 or something to set it apart. The only reason the Sequoia and the LX could share an engine is they were different enough.

We'll have to wait and see how normal people receive the I4, that is what matters.

The typical toyota customer has no idea how many cylinders their motor is and even if they do, they will keep buying whatever wears a Toyota badge. That's what differentiates Ram and Ford and GM truck buyers apart from Toyota buyers, those truck buyers prefer V8s while Toyota buyers will take whatever toyota ships. If Toyota put the a 2 liter Corolla motor in the Tundra next, plenty of people will say "see that's a good thing, it's a motor that has been in other toyota vehicles for a while now and it's fine".

LOL. Such typical redditor type response when you can't counter a commonly known fact. Toyota buyers have been known as lemmings since the 90s.

Go ask a typical 4Runner buyer (i.e. those looking at the 6th gen at dealerships these days) what motor is in their SUV and see what they say. If they can respond "it's a gas motor" they are already ahead of the curve. But don't scare them with questions like cylinder count, NA vs turbo, DI versus Port Injection, etc. You will startle them.

Please kindly go and do your own study if you get triggered so much that you wish to prove the opposite.

Oh I was just making fun of you with my response.

I started to type out how what you said about Toyota buyers can be said of anyone and everyone just likes the thing they own or buy so they say whatever they need to make theirs sound best. Kinda like politics. But then decided that would be pointless.

And youre making these huge generalized statements about massive populations stated as facts....which is why I responded the way i did. It was rhetorical because you sound like some keyboard reddit warrior who knows everything and isn't afraid to tell people how they think. So my response was meant to sound like something you would say.

And then you tell me im triggered and do a laughing gif. I got you worked up pretty good.

"Please release the data from your study and cite sources" how could you think this is serious?

Since you are a Toyota buyer, you're in the group. Wait, you're the lone exception, right?

In the future, please refer to us people as "Minions", thank you!

My 23s are the first toyota I bought since 2005. I have been buying other brands in the interim.

I currently also own a ford, a Jeep since Toyota doesn't make a 2 door offroader and a Nissan since Toyota doesn't make a manual economy car. If I am a Toyota lemming, I am not a very good one.

I especially liked the part where he has to tell us he has at least 4 cars clearly bragging but giving us simple humble reasons he had to buy them like money wasnt a factor. I like talking to people who seem like they dont understand other people are sentient beings with thoughts of their own. I can't hit ignore on him.
