Do all Canadian 2017 4 runners have a moonroof?

I decided to get a 2017 4 runner.
I learned my 6'5" made it prudent that I do not get a moon-roof. Most say it saves at least an inch. I live in the bush so its a long drive to nearest dealer.
To my surprise the closest dealer who, I am in email contact, today told me all 2017 4runners in CANADA have the moon-roof as standard equipment.
It is hard to understand that even the base offroad model has a moon-roof as standard equipment!!!!!
I am here to see if anyone in CANADA can verify that this joker is right. I am still in shock!

He currently does not have any 4 runners for me to go sit in. He said that the new 17 models have more room than the old ones and I said I will not buy unless I can sit I a new moon-roof vehicle and verify that theres enough head room.
So here I sit wondering what to do. I think I will wait for a few days to see if anyone on the board has the answer. I am on sat and its to slow to search the Canadian website. I just get hung up there and if anyone with high speed would do me the favor of searching the Canadian site for the info I would be forever grateful.

All Canadian model 4R do come with a Sunroof yes... and also running boards.

That means even the base model 4 runner offroad has moon roof and running boards. That's a tough sale. Most people who really drive off road do not want running boards as they reduce clearance and get damaged very easy. My wife does not like them because they are always collecting dirt and getting on her clothes. Do you know if the 2017 model has more head clearance than the older models? Thanks

 

The last previous years the model has remained unchanged other than the elimination of the standard 5 seater a year ago. (Cloth/No Roof) They decided last year and this year it would appear that the 7 passenger that used to be the upgrade is now the standard package.

So Leather, Navi, Running Boards and Roof are standard equipment now. You can remove the boards though, which I'll be doing for Nfabs personally.

 

The 16 model year the trail edition has the moon roof now it's the Offroad model. I think the sr5 it's optional and the trd pro doesn't have one

 

The Canadian TRD Pro does and the Standard 7 passenger SR5 also has a sunroof.
I work at a Canadian dealership, this is how they all arrive.

Yes, can confirm, am Canadian.
Every model has sunroof - it's standard equipment on the base model.
My 2017 White TRD Pro has it.

 

This is the dumbest thing that I have heard...Totally makes sense to have a moonroof on a TRD Pro in a place where it snows a good part of the year. Not! In California or other spots around the US you can't even get a TRD Pro with a Moonroof. Makes no sense.

Agreed. The moonroof was a big factor in me not getting a Pro. That and I plan on changing the suspension anyway.

 

Too much sun in Cali, so the no moonroof offers more shade.
It only snows like 2-3 months out of the year in most of Canada, we require more sunlight input. Keeps us happier and vitamin D.

 

Totally agree with Krezz. We rarely open the sun/moon roof, especially in this rotten winter, but it is nice to have when you're exploring slowly on off-roads in the summer. Can't wait for our long trip in May/June. - Ted

 

All 17' 4Runners in Canada have a sun/moonroof? I am here in the States (Virginia) and just bought a 17' TRD Off Road and NO sun/Moonroof. I'm sure Trump had something to do with this!! Seriously what a rip off! We should have it as well!

Just FYI, Toyota confirmed that this is still the case for 2019 for ALL 4runners. I purchased my 08 sport brand new in the USA and when I purchased it all 4runners had sunroofs. I worked with a dealer who special ordered a truck in from Japan for me and a few months later the car was delivered to me at the border.

It irks me to no end that Toyota Canada will not work with their buyers like the dealer I dealt with in 08 was willing to do. It was so easy that I was looking forward to my next purchase but here we are cash in hand and in no rush and the door is slammed in my face.

I am 6'6" and the sunroof lowers the roof to the point where it is un-drivable. Dealers keep suggesting the Highlander as a replacement but as we all know the Highlander is nowhere near the same truck. Best suggestion so far was that I could drive with the sunroof open.....
