Just got a call from Safelite saying they cut the pinch weld when replacing my window. I’ve been reading a lot of horror stories and wanted to get some opinions. How bad is this? Should I just let them fix it or take further action? They tried to take my car to a body shop without my permission. When I found that out, I had them return the car until I could look at the damage my self.

Tell um to pain the exposed metal and I'd let it go.

Sorry to hear man. They have been known to mess up Runners because they rush the job with a sawzall. Never use them.

I'd ask for free windshield replacement for life or the $$ to fix it from the body shop. They owe u the monetary value of the damage. Start emailing & getting documentation. You need proof in writing

Welcome from Wisconsin! Take it to a body shop of your choice, have them pay for the repair, put in the windshield... end of problem. No sense in being pissy, just get it fixed.

I’d request factory glass and someone else to do the work and bill Safelite

Ooof sorry to hear that - Safelite does tend to rush but I guess it depends on the tech too.
