My girlfriend’s birth mother passed away recently, and we made two separate trips to her apartment in Coatesville to get some stuff. Del Toyota is less than ten minutes away, and I saw online that they had some 6th Gens in stock, so I talked Amanda into letting me go to the dealer in exchange for driving all the way out to Coatesville…

It is sharp but I still cannot get over the large black fender flares. Why not have them paint matched.

It looks like Weather Tec got a side job making fender flares for this vehicle and so many others. Just makes it look cheap in my opinion.

I didn't take any photos, but there's a 6th gen ORP in Ice White on the lot at Peterson Toyota in Idaho. It had cross bars on the rack, sliders and after market tires, the sticker is $59,000. Insane!

I agree, the fender flares are truly horrible. Even on black, the matte flares still stand out.

Yes so many manufacturers are doing something similar. It must be cheaper I guess from a production standpoint. They just save on paint and labor and slept these ugly black plastic pieces on here.

Remeber Chevy Avalanches and the faded black plastic. I can see that looking like crap after a few summers and quicker in warmer climates

I honestly love the look of the new 6th Gens. I think the new Tacoma's look horrible, but for some reason, the new styling fits the 4Runner much better. I personally like the matte black fender flares, I LOVE how the rear windows are larger and go higher to the roof, and I like that for once, the butt end doesn't look disproportionately large. I don't like that they made the vehicle larger, and I have no intention to trade in my 5th Gen, but the 6th Gen is a better looker, in my opinion. It has really grown on me. I'm dying to see a 6th Gen with a high-clearance front bumper.

Maybe it's just the Underground color, but each of these views look like the side of the vehicle has giant door dings...I just don't care for the body lines on it or the Tacoma.

Unpainted fenders look better on Tacoma b/c the wheelbase is stretched further. Unpainted on 4Runner visually brings the wheel arches too close together, resulting in a stubby look. Body-color fenders fix that, adding “length” to the design.

Overall, it’s handsome, just paint the fenders.

In the spring of 1996, the 3rd Gen T4R had just been released and my dad wanted to trade his 1993 Chevy S-10 Blazer for one. I distinctly remember that a green 1996 Limited at a dealer in Allentown had a sticker price of about $32K, the dealer refuse to go below sticker, and my dad thought it was too expensive. He ended up buying a brand new Nissan Pathfinder instead, and we had that for more than 13 years, ultimately trading it for my 2010 Tacoma when I finally got my learner’s permit. I believe my dad paid like $26K or $28K for the Pathfinder, which was below sticker. His current vehicle, a loaded 2018 GMC Yukon SLT, had an MSRP of $66K. My dad dad bought it used in November 2018 with like 8,200 miles on it, at the dealership where I was working at the time, for $53K (my employee discount applied to him, since he is immediate family). Now, a fairly basic T4R is almost $50K!!! :rasta:

Dealership here in Houston had two today when I drove by the lot. White 4x2 Sport $53K, and a red 4X4 Sport for $62k. They were locked so I didn't get to get a good look inside.

I agree. The location where the front fender meets the front door hinge looks like a massive door ding.

The pictures from the back angle look awesome, IMO. Classic boxy 4Runner butt
