Who has the 6112 front, 5100 rear setup? Also what rear springs did you install? Considering going with this setup but don't want to compromise on road manners too much. Going for a 3"/1.5" stance. Appreciate feedback on this, Thanx.

I had this setup from April 2020 until this February. I had the medium load 6112's set to ~2.4" lift.

I put around 100K miles on them. I was seriously considering going with them again, but wanted to try OME MT64's and got a deal on the rears.

In some ways, I thought the Bilsteins had better road manners than the OEM shocks. A firmer ride, which has pros and cons.

The only complaint I had was that the rear felt bouncy at times. But, I thought that might have been due to using heavy springs (Bilstein B12 heavy load). It felt like the 5100's didn't have enough damping for the extra weight and stiff springs.

If you're not carrying a lot of constant weight, you could go with the standard load B12 coils, and the ride would probably be fine.

6112/5100 here. Running a T13 rear spring. I had my clips set at 6 and 4 for the front. That got me about 2". Absolutely happy with the ride. I have a deck box with drawers. It puts about 1/4" drop in the rear.

I'm running them with standard load springs, 6/4 fronts and B12 rear 1" standard load. I had 5100 all around w/ stock rear spring and felt it was a bit rough, the 6112 provides that bit more softness on road that was perfect for me. Also moved to 285/70s with perry bump stops at the same time so not sure if that played a role as well.
You can pickup this setup from RockAuto for way cheaper than anywhere else too + add discount code.

@Knarf where in DFW are you located? Thinking of going the 6112/5160 route.

Hey man, I'm in the Carrollton area. Thought about 5160s also, but don't need the extra oil capacity and you only gain like 1/4" more of down travel if I remember that correctly.

I have the 6112/ 5160 combo. I have the B12 "special" rear spring. From reviews I've seen, people don't think there is much difference between the 5100 and 5160.

I'm happy with the ride over stock. On slower speed bumps, I wish it was a bit more soft, but otherwise, no complaints. I have about 20,000 miles or so on them.

Are you planning to get the lift from springs or from the circlip adjustment?

This would be experimental, but something you could try instead of doing the B12 coils combined with either the 5100 or 5160's in back, is combine the B12's with Eibach rear shocks. I think the valving is a little softer on the Eibach's and they might be a good match with 6112's up front.

I'm not following what is experimental?

Gotcha. I was considering that as well. I just mis-read it.

I tried both 5100 and 5160 back to back matched with 6112 front. I thought the 5160 was a much better match and would highly recommend going that route. It’s not a huge price difference and it was a noticeable improvement.

    Thank you!

i love the ride. Each year I travel from Pa to Nc on a 1 way 10-12 hr drive and it perfect for me and my 3 passengers, No complaints during that 1000 mile round trip.

I have the 6112/5100 setup. Mine is set to clip 6 on front, which raised it 2.7" and I used the Bilstein 1" lift spring in the rear. The spring part number is 36-281817. I opted against the 5160 rear shocks because they only come with a 2 year warranty and a reputation for leaking. Both the 6112 and 5100 have a lifetime warranty. I also have 285/70 tires. It's not quite level, it has just a small rake.

Thanks for your input and reply. Just trying to gather as much information and reviews before going with a setup. Greatly appreciated. There's so much out there, don't want to regret my purchase.

Thanks! The reason I chose white was because I have a black 2001 Tundra and it never looks clean so I didn't want anything dark. haha

I have 5100 shocks and moog coils in the rear.. i feel its too soft, if i put a 150lb or so in the back the front wanders on bumps. Plan to get heavier coils, but torn on what spring and weight to go with.

T13 coils is what in run. 13% stiffer than stock + 1.5” lift. Really nice when you need to load up the rear.
