    Quick question (hopefully)

If I upgrade from a stock wheel to a 9" wheel what offset would I need?

I was thinking a -12 would fit. Does anyone know?

    UPDATED:

    1.5 inch OME lift
    stock uppers
desired tire size is 285/65 18

I'm ok with a little trimming

    Thanks in advance

I went with 22x9 and the shop was able to fit as per invoice +15 on the offset so the opposite of why you are saying. This offset thing gets a bit confusing when you go for a wider wheel. My Limited had 7" originally therefore.... I actually looked through many online calculators, that have a "visual" representation. You enter the OEM size, then the one you are buying and it will overlay both on top of each other. Not much room in the 4Runner to be off my much as you will rub. I had rubbing issues with OEM wheels and spacers, had to do the mudflap and front fender mod. with the 9" no rubbing.

Good luck with this being a quick question.

So many "will it rub/ will they fit" threads...

To adequately answer this question you'd have to include
-What size tires are you planning to run (Limited trim so 20x9?)
-What UCA's are you running (some UCA's require 0 or negative offset)
-How much trimming are you okay with doing?

This would be good info to include before a ton of opinions flood the thread ;)

    Edit:
    Oh, and here's this:

Cool! Here's a thread where this was discussed. Looks like the 0 offset option would require less trimming (to be expected)
Still required a heat gun and pushing the fender liners.

See post number 16 and on
    https://www.4runners.com/threads/18-inch-wheels.27600/

I'd imagine the -12 offset would look better (imo) but require quite a bit more trimming. Possibly cutting fender liners and a body mount chop... This is just a guess. I've done a lot of clearancing on my rig for 34s/ 35s. Not much experience with 18" wheels though!
