SOS! Hey everyone. Could use some serious help here. Installed some 4Runner lifestyle triple fang lights and now car won’t start. Followed their YouTube video on install and tapped into the INJ fuse with an add a fuse like they did and now the car cranks but won’t turn over. I tried taking the add a fuse out and putting in the 10 amp fuse back but it’s still not turning. Any ideas on what to do? Thanks for any help!

Maybe disconnect the battery for 10-20 minutes to reset things.

Sounds like something smoked. Remove all of the aftermarket wiring and then troubleshoot.

Check key fob battery. That can start problems as well

put a new fuse in not the old one back in just incase thats bad

Mine did the same thing. They were the "good" ones, too. Sorry.

Sounds like you shorted something out in the "injector/fuel" system, hope you can find the issue.

In the future NEVER add anything extra to any fuse that runs vital systems such as ignition, injectors, etc. or any circuit that is for making the engine run, as you may end up with a vehicle that might not run afterwards!

Why not call the manufacturer and ask them why they f-ed you over? Hopefully they can help you work through the problem. Reversing everything you've done and a battery disconnect reset should get you running again. When it does, throw those things in the trash.

And here we are again...if only people would join up and research electrical modifications before buying and installing gadgets using the seller's instructions. They most likely would not have their first post be sending an SOS afterward when their vehicle wouldn't start. This, and other forums, have plenty of experiences like this.

    Good luck with the fix.

Update. Did a hard reset by disconnecting battery for 30 mins. Disconnected fang lights entirely, they were just grounded. Put in new fuse in INJ slot. Started right up. Put in old fuse, also worked as it should. The fang light turn signals work without the power wire connected to the fuse tap, so it’s only the white DRL fang lights that need power from the add a fuse. THANK YOU FOR ALL THE SUGGESTIONS AND HELP!

Now my next possible route is getting the add a fuse to an appropriate spot. I’m thinking maybe there’s a good one under the dash? However I’ve already added heated seats so that HTD ST 20 amp fuse is tapped and the ACC (accessory?) one is also tapped, as the heated seats had a wire for that and wouldn’t work without it. Any suggestions on which fuse slot to tap to make the DRLs work and not kill my 4Runner? lol thanks again all. 2015 SR5

Sorry man, just got the vehicle recently so I’m new to the forum. I joined about 30 days ago and bought the fang lights from a forum member here actually. Followed the manufacturers tutorial, so one might say I did some homework before starting it up. Don’t really spend too much time on here, but figured it’s a good place to find help.
got a link to a specific thread with my exact situation? Thanks

It's all good. Glad to see you nailed the fix. You're braver than I am - the only electrical modification I would risk was LED interior lights. And even those can give some 4R owners fits.

Too many to list & Worth every penny!
You could try using the tail fuse inside the cab fuse location. That will give you power when the engine is running with the light switch on.

It can be so frustrating. I had the same issues as you with fang lights and Raptor lights. Ended up ditching the fangs but kept them tapped into the blinkers so they do blink but are off all other times. Tried most every fuse tap location possible. My car just flat out will not accept a fuse tap without the eventual dash xmas tree.

There are guys who won't let a high school grad at a dealership change their oil 'cause they might fook it up.

But they will tear into the most complex system on their 4Runner, the electrical system, with out giving it any thought and with no idea what they are doing...
