@Daddykool .. did you see they're coming out with a nikon p1100 ?? I think I might have to try and get it, even a little more zoom than the p1000 it just replaced

I did not. I’ll have to look into that and see the specs. Looks like it's in stock locally to me for $1100. That's not bad. You’re getting some excellent shots with your P900. I know you felt like you were struggling a couple years ago, but you seem to have it figured out.

I’d also like to pick up a lens for my DSLR with maybe 500mm zoom someday.

I'd be stoked to go from 83x optical, to 125op,.. or somewhere in that ball park...absolutely nuts for a point and shoot

First photos I've taken since October. My 300mm lens (which I usually use when on my deck) wasn't enough to get decent shots. But it was nice to see these guys. Two adults and their juvenile. Or maybe not theirs, since they weren't really together. Saw 5 eagles total today. Plus a red-bellied woodpecker, I think.

Those are good. But I see what you're saying about the red. In that shot, I see the stars streaked (camera movement or earth rotation), which makes me think the shutter speed slowed down to compensate for the large decrease in light. Assuming here that shutter was set to auto. I got the same results a few years ago when photographing Jupiter. In that event, I had the camera on a tripod and used a 2-second delay to allow camera shake to stop after the button was pressed. Incrementally sped up the shutter until the streaking stopped.
