First 4runner I've owned. 2000 sr5. Nice and rusty from Pa.
Today I finally got he 4wd working properly thanks largely to all the posts on this forum. So while testing the 4low in my yard it blew a brake line on the passenger side.....rusted out. Next weekend I'll be doing all the front brake lines. Rear will come soon after.

Being dissatisfied with the aggressive character of the traction control systems I installed the AndyMod 2.0 mod. Directions on the forums and Youtube made assembling the correct components and wiring the relay and momentary switch (from Toyota Avalon purchased via ebay) a breeze.

Installed a Sony XAV-9000ES head unit, last time I installed a car stereo was around 1988. This was an easy job and took me maybe 3 hours because I had to run and hide three wires under carpet and behind trim panels, my head liner is still out though and that made it easier too!

I'd say an experienced hand could possibly do this job in 30 minutes if your familiar with your 4Runner and have done one or two stereo's before it's that easy.

Have these coaxial's to install in rear doors then I'm waiting on funds for front speakers, amp and sub.
Already this HU sounds 100% better than the junk I removed but does become fatiguing with the stock junk speakers.

When I put everything back together the clock didn't work any longer, Went to take it apart the next day and see why, this happened! Toyota has a dummy plug right next to the real plug. Why would they do that?

I saved the piece's and figure I will try to glue them but won't I see a terrible line. Either way they want a fortune for those plastic bezel's! And I don't have a limited like my details say I do.

They’re quite common at the junkyard if you’ve got a pick and pull by you

Installed the Spiker Engineering hood struts

    Super simple....I'm impressed

Instead of tie wrapping my washer line per the instructions I just disconnected the top hose and routed the bottom hose behind the bracket then reconnected

20250207_173207.jpg Installed a set of Front Runner drawers and now playing Jenga to see how other camping gear fits around them. LBJ's are next followed by upgraded suspension.

Drove like a mile to the gas station and topped off the tank with a few gallons. Kept all the snow off of it. They are stocking trout locally mid week. Feels like rolling a new $50k 4R down the road.

    Yeah...I got them off Amazon

    https://www.amazon.com/Spiker-Engin...4fc303e8f3d255c16420700&qid=1740286685&sr=8-1

I should have posted installation pics but I was so excited I just had tunnel vision

Very easy...install the bottom ball studs...snap on the struts....swing them up to where you want them on the hood....put a piece of frog tape on the hood...use sharpee to mark the holes of the bracket...drill holes...install rivets through bracket...pop em and you're done

The kit comes with everything you need except the rivet gun

"Test and Tune", my 4Runner runs like brand new!
Two deer crossed right in front of me, then a guy driving beside me jerked the wheel twice and tried to run me off the road.lol
