I would love to see Car Care Nut get his hands on one of these to review. He can tell us about the differences between this and the Sequoia and Tundra hybrids.

The Mercedes and Range Rover that he mentions are each $35,000 more than this Lexus.

Difference is the LX offers a gas only model that doesn't have that shelf.

    Sequoias are hybrid only/

Most references to Luigi today are regarding Luigi Mangione, chief suspect (in custody) in the high-profile daylight shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson(?) outside a Manhattan hotel.

And also the brother of Nintendo video game character Mario.

 interesting how Toyota is able to segment so well their customer base and squeeze out of us every cent possible with these similar vehicles but with different names and some tweaks here and there.

Lexus prices are fine. LX was 92 Grand way back in 2019. It is the same money if you take inflation to account but you get way more stuff with this new one. I agree with you on the Toyota prices, 4Runner should not cost $68,000

I can deal with their looks, but what gets me is their prices. I can't believe I am about to say this...but I am starting to consider a Tahoe or an Explorer on my next purchase.

I'm telling you guys, you lop the lower 1/3 to 1/2 of that thing off for a hybrid bumper, or even a full bumper, and it will be baller - or at the very least baller-adjacent.

Similar front end to the refreshed 460's front end, though honestly I think the 700's is better and would look exponentially better modded.

Oh come on! I squealed like a little girl until I opened the thread.
I maintain GX550 is best of the bunch, looks wise. The new LXs have very fat butt.

C pillar & back, it is terrible looking..

there are literally only sharp edges elsewhere across the vehicle… then they decided to randomly introduce a curved bulg for the c pillar region - the 3rd row window and roof, are both curved in an inelegant way

It’s like they had a different design team working on the rear end and they never talked to the designers working on the front.

I hate how the c pillar is basically in the shape of a triangle.. from far away, when you make out the rough shapes that make up a vehicle.. the c pillar being an equilateral triangle is simply odd…. It doesn’t follow the flow/energy from any other parts of the vehicl

lc300’s c pillar is much more pleasant looking

There's probably enough difference there already to make those valid choices regardless of how the LX is and if you're going to cross-shop those, your options explode too since the Explorer's in (probably) the hottest segment today: large crossovers.

On LX, the c pillar has a huge surface area, overpowers whatever visual cues going on the car.
On that Mazda the c pillar is proportional to the side windows

All the mods aside, no one can convince me if Toyota brought that rig over to the US it wouldn't fly off the lot at 80k USD.

Yeah. I wonder if Toyota is saying....let's see how the Americans do with the LX700h first and see if they buy it all. Then, they can rethink how to price the LC300 and how to target that custome base. I think we could see higher prices for the LC300 than even the LX. Anyway, what do I know....
I still want to buy a LC one day. I am wondering if I can go after the older LC200, the heritage editions. I would supercharge the v8 to get to 500hp, put 35s and call it a day. :dancingbacon:
