Hoping anyone could help me with some info.

I’ve been debating on sticking with stock tire size or go up to 285/70/17

I currently have 265/70/17 on stock 4Runner SR5 wheels with a 2.5 inch lift in front and 1.5 inch in the rear. I’m just wondering if that is enough to run them with little rub since the wheel size is 7.0
Or if I need to do a bmc or fender cut or mud flap delete. Or if I should get wheel spacers.

I know 285s aren’t rated for a 7 inch wheel. I’m willing to run the risk.

Welcome to the forum Alex, there is a butt load of info on this very subject if you do a little reading here. Here is a pic. Of mine with 285/75/17 and believe it or not I didn’t have to do anything. I hope you chose not to believe because I am lying.

Yup, it will work. I had that size on my OEM SR5 wheels and then on my current TRD Pro wheels.

SR 5 rims are 7.5"s. the only OE rims that are 7 are the pros

This black SR5 have 285/70R17 on factory 17x7 SR5 wheels. It got 3in front and 2in rear lift. No bumper trimming or mud flap removal done. Now on 2nd set of KO2 285s and vehicle clocks around 75000 miles. No issues.

I am always so jealous of how nice your tires look. What do you use to shine them? Mine have the "permanently rolled in dirt" look. Without doing any offloading.
