Hah I didn't even notice that until you mentioned. How funny (and strange?)!

My comments based on the new owner's pics:

    1) it looks so much better with the body color flares vs gloss black flares

    2) I love the storage cubbies with closing lids in the rear cargo area

    3) the textured running boards look really good

    4) overall the interior looks very very "cheap" to me. "Spartan" and "utilitarian" would be overly generous. I don't think Toyota could come up with cheaper looking materials if they tried

I have a cross-body bag, it's quite handy. I think it's more of a younger person trend - I started seeing them worn like that starting maybe a few years ago?

First you owned a Kia, now you're a fanny-pack guy. We should suspend your man-card for a year.

I used to have a fanny pack during travel, until my wife said I am not allowed to carry it anymore. It really completed the "Dad" look honestly.

Aren't today's kids just wearing the fanny pack as cross-body bag?

Pretty much, the bag I picked up is larger and meant for wearing that way (so I can’t really go full around-the-waist even if I wanted) but yep, plenty of fanny packs being worn over the shoulder as you think!

    Two predictions:
1.) It will take a little time, but once they start showing up on the roads, the new 4Runner will catch on with Gen5 owners, and sell very well.

2.) Toyota will introduce a new off-road lifestyle series of “Genuine Toyota” TRD tested & branded performance fanny packs.

you only get Toyota Fanny packs with upper trims. And then they will be sold on eBay for a gazillion dollars.
Kinda like the Toyota cooler we were going Gaga over a few years ago. Didn’t it cost same as a yeti?

Underground actually looks ok with the black fender flares.

I like the way the designed the 3rd row.

Interior color is much better than the previous posts with that blue stripe going across.

Also Powell Motors “The Homer” and some car from a country that no longer exists. She will go 300 hectares on a single tank of kerosene though.

So far both owners that I've seen pictures of through links on this site look like fuckbois with extra punchable faces.

People who like to post their faces on the internet for buying a mass market product are never people whose get paid to have their photos taken.

Just like how nudists are seldom the kind of people with bodies to flaunt.

It looks like he purchased the base SR5 for around $46,000, plus whatever additional fees California and the dealer are charging. The 4WD and third-row seating bumped the price to $45,335, but he added a few extras. Smart move. I got my 2023 SR5 Premium with heated seats, a heated steering wheel, a third row, TRD wheels and more, for $47,000 out the door. I average 20-22 mpg on the highway and 18-19 mpg in the city. It’ll take him a while to make up the difference in fuel savings alone.

My 23 ORP KDSS with moonroof and everything was stickered for 48.5k but my dealer was running 3k off so it ended up being 47k with destination, before our CA sales tax and licensing fees.

I was surprised to hear how much people were paying for the SR5P just for the 3rd row. I remember some were stickered about 50k toward the end of 24 MY

The Limited and Platinum trims are going to be good looking vehicles whenever its in "your" favorite color. The lines are growing on me, the interior of the upper trims are fairly nice. The body shape is sort'a 1st gen styling with modern curves and lines. I absolutely despise the engine combo, why not give people the option for one of the most dependable v6 ever built? Why no v6 turbo option? I love the 2RZ-FE and 3RZ-FE i have ran both and built a 3RZ into a 500hp capable engine and it was reliable as crap BUT i put it in a 2500lb truck running 27" tires, not a 5500lb truck running 33s with tall 3.55 gearing. DANG.... I just realize my regular cab tacoma had 3.55s stock and i had 27" tires on it. Thats the same gear ratio they are using for the new 4R that weighs 5500lbs and runs 33s stock.
I'm not digging the engine selection and there is no opt-out.... Thats uber lame. The outward appearance is pretty slick though when its colored in your colors.

I’m still running the stock tires on my 24 ORP, which pains me, but there is no way I would drive anywhere other than straight to the tire shop with the rubber on that SR5.

Apparently the no full size spare applies to every tire on the trim.

Very weird. Also taking a couples photo in front of your new car is even more weird.

You dont like pizza cutter street tires? 245/70-17 super slicks is likely how they got the fuel mileage up. I wouldnt doubt those may'pops are 2 ply and weigh 33 pounds a piece. I bet that tire alone is good for +2mpg over any real tire. Put a 265/65-17 BFG on it and i bet you lose 2-3mpg easy

Wait dude thats a 30.5" tire

Unless it’s the width of a bike tire and tucked way up there.

Never mind compact or mini spare, we need some kei-spares.

No spare just seems crazy to me. Not even as an accessory option? I wish these new buyers had more undercarriage and less fanny pack photos.
