Valvoline EP 0w-20, previous oil was 5w-30 I alternate each oci 5k, sometimes earlier because I get bored on sundays.

Actually changed mine yesterday… dealer definitely torque the aluminum drain cover on tight… and the oil filter housing. That being said, I have to get a new one because I don’t like the fact that the 3/8 drive socket is now stripped.

I should be able to get the little drain plug cover? Or do I need to buy the whole deal? Want to stick with the plastic housing

The drain cover at the bottom of the filter can be bought separately. I broke mine the very 1st oil change I did because some clown over-tightened it. I keep a spare now, too. Torque value is only 9ft. lbs. for that cover.

I always use one brand..... the cheapest synthetic i can find and change every 10k miles. The engine will go at least 700k miles if you do this.

SuperTech 0w-20 from Walmart and OEM Toyota filter. I switched to the SuperTech in my Tacoma after having run Mobil 1 and doing a Blackstone oil analysis of the two. If you change every 5k, there's no reason to spend more on a different brand of full synthetic. It won't make a difference.

Borla exhaust, Jet MAF sensor, K&N filter, Hayden rapid cool transmission cooler, Hella horns, electric fan, Pedal Commander, Derale power steering cooler,
Mobil 1 5w30 high mileage and Toyota filter every 10k. Or 15k. It is 20k oil now. It stays so clean and engine is dry at 230k still. Keeps engine clean. Dirtier the oil, cleaner it is inside and no sludge, no oil use at all. The higher the mileage, the better the engine runs. Mine has finally started to free up more and is more responsive and usually 1/2 + mpg every 80-100k of mileage.
