I’m in Miami and just started to chrome delete with some logo overlays and new rims but I agree that wrapping is the way to go. Can you share the name of the Miami shop please?

Still cant figure why the Nightshade Edition was discontinued.

looks good. I hate the low hanging rocker panel on my LE and the even lower tucked under running boards that I can barely get the heel of my foot on.

is it as easy as popping off the LE rocker panel and putting on an ORP or SR5 rocker panel? Are the SR5 and ORP rocker panels the same? Cant tell in pic but is your rocker panel now black or still blue?

Do they line up properly with the front and rear fender flares? I have silver color not sure if it would be noticeable if they dont line up?

Pretty sure it was KONG Garage in Miami. I think they fix up vehicles and try to sell them overseas. Not sure if they are doing the work or having a 3rd party do it but they were building night shades, doing chrome delete, lift, and 285 tires on them. I saw the listings for the vehicles after they built them and put them for sale. The listings they had all showed the vehicles could be crated / containered for over sea shipping. The white one i was looking at i remember searching the vin later down the road and it was registered in either Cuba or Dominican Republic.

I like the Limiteds pictured above with the chrome parts blacked out - they really look good. I also agree with who questioned why they got rid of the Nightshade edition. I saw a previous year MGM Nightshade edition Limited on the road a few months ago and I would have tried getting one of those if it was available in the 2023 model year. I had the choice with my Toyota running boards and I went with the Nightshade running boards. I'm probably an older 4Runner owner (60) - so I don't necessarily hate the chrome on the Limited as most of the vehicles I remember in my youth had a lot of chrome (although back then it was real chromed metal). I bought a Limited knowing it had the chrome details because I wanted the full time 4WD system - just a better system for how/where I use my 4Runner - and real leather seats. I think Toyota would have sold more Limited 5th Gen 4Runners if the chrome parts were more like the finish on the roof rack rails - more of a dull anodized aluminum look - instead of the mirror finish chrome. I think they should have still offered the Nightshade edition also - as the black would provide great contrast on certain colors. I think 4Runners with everything color matched look good as well - but I kind of like the contrast if some of the parts on the front, door handles, badges, etc... are a different color than the paint. I think I'd like my MGM the best if just all the mirror finish chrome parts had the same finish as the roof rack rails. It would provide good contrast with the MGM and match up with the stock wheels pretty good. Other colors - black, white, silver, blue, underground would look great with black.

If I remember correctly, there were a couple of bolts and 7 plastic clips on each side. I used a parts diagram from an ORP when sourcing the parts. I just left the rocker panel covers unpainted since you can barely see them and my 4runner is a dark color. They may be more noticeable on a white or light colored 4runner.

No need to replace any parts to black out a Limited. I used good only masking tape and car paint masking paper to Plasti Dip the chrome strips by the windows, along the bottom of the door, along the front of the running board, as well as the rear emblem “4 Runner”, the chrome strips on the tailgate, the entire roof rack (which I removed to Plasti Dip, and the small ledge behind the front fascia ABS cap that was body color. Use the overlay kit for the front, overlays on the wheels. I think it came out pretty well—just have to take your time when masking off. Used the caps on the door handles. Will post rear pic in a separate post

Here’s the rear with the Toyota emblem “4Runner” and the chrome strip Plasti Dip. Used the Toyota circles ABS overlay as I had opened the tailgate in the garage and some of the Plasti-dip scraped off on the door—had the ABS circle emblem handy so put it on. Also added the black lens taillights.
