Our extremely low mile 08 4runner just showed the engine icon light and VSC icon on the dash. Drive's normal with no obvious problems. Not sure about the cause...manual says to take it to the dealer (not too excited about that).

Has anyone just disconnected then reconnected battery for this type of problem. I've done this on our other car (Chevy) and, if it's just a random anomaly, the light disappears and everything's normal.

    Other thoughts or experiences welcome.

    Thanks,
    Bill

    Just a couple
Manual is for those who don't tinker...ha!

Could be a couple things but Id try this first: recalibrate your traction control with a zero-point calibration. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=55XmiSsGQgo

    Or

Have you driven through any icy-ladened mud puddles or snow pack? Sometimes the ABS sensor can wiggle and cause the light to turn on...look underneath and make sure you don't have any wires dangling. Also, freezing temperatures after a wet drive home can temporarily turn lights on...

Try the Zero-point calibration first and report back!
