Identifying Part in Engine Compartment

Can anyone tell me what part this is in red? There's a small hose connected to it, but a squirrel chewed the hose in half and I have no idea what it is. That bastard squirrel also chewed my washer fluid hose in half but I can't imagine these two hoses are related?

 

Thats a silencer in the intake but the line goes to the fuel pressure regulator

 

Looks like that little bugger got at the insulation on the firewall too. Hopefully it avoided the injector wires in the manifold valley of the engine.

 

So far no error codes. Taking it to the shop this week to check the damage. That lil fucker also left half eaten acorns inside the cabin - no idea how he got inside.
