Key Fob Disabled / Lock and Unlock Feedback Tone Not Working Either - Techstream Fix?

Let me start off by saying I apologize for posting here since I technically have a Lexus GX 460 and NOT a 4Runner. I still love you 4Runner peeps.

I've been chasing this issue all around Facebook, ih8mud forums, club lexus forums and trying to get into the dealership. Dealership is booking out to mid February in my area and I don't want to wait that long if I can help it. I was told you 4Runner peeps have this issue as well and to post here for help.

Hello, all! I will do my best to explain the issue below and get everyone up to speed. Yes, I plan to take my GX to the dealership next week if I cannot fix this myself as it is under warranty. However, if I can use Techstream to reinitialize the keyless system and get the feedback tone to work, that will save me time and effort.

2022 GX 460 with 40k miles

A few things to get out of the way:

1. Replaced the key fob batteries in both of my fobs with brand new CR2032 batteries. Remote entry does not work nor does the panic button.

2. Checked the vehicle battery with the car off with a multi-meter and it reads 12.7v with the engine off.

3. Yes, I have read the manual and read through the smart entry settings and the vehicle customization settings.

4. Disconnected the vehicle battery for 30 minutes.

5. Went through the vehicle settings > door settings and then the door lock settings. Verified the feedback tone is set to 7 for door lock and unlock.

6. Yes, I plan to take my GX to the dealership for warranty work if that's necessary.

Here are the issues:

When I approach the vehicle, I touch the door handle and the vehicle will unlock but it no longer makes an audible "beep" sound (feedback tone) when unlocking OR when locking. It used to do this, even recently. One beep for lock and two beeps for unlock. Yes, I have the feedback tone set to 7 in the vehicle door settings.

Additionally, neither key fob will lock or unlock the GX remotely and the panic button no longer works. The only way I can get into the GX now is via the touch unlock on the driver door handle. Yes, I have replaced the batteries in the fobs with brand new batteries.

I've checked the fuses and nothing is blown.

I have been told that my keyless system needs to be reinitialized. I have just installed techstream and have the mini cable to connect to the GX and was planning to try this. I just don't know where to go in Techstream to reinitialize the keyless entry system. Any help or advice would be appreciated. It's like both key fobs are disabled and the door feedback lock and unlock beep doesn't work anymore. This all started after I messed with the door lock feedback settings in the vehicle customization menu.

This has happened to multiple 4R owners over the last few years. It seems to happen when the settings for the remote are changed or adjusted. The fix, other than going to a dealer, has been to get back into the settings with something like Carista and re-enable the door lock feature, which I'm sure you will find has been turned off. It sounds like that is what you plan to do. I wish I could add information on this, but mine is a 2019, and does not have the newer remote. Good luck with the fix.

Thanks for the reply! I have techstream and a mini cable. But, I do not know where the setting is to get this fixed. I do not have carista but would be willing to buy it if it saves me a trip to the dealership. Plus, I'd have it for future needs. Do you have a recommendation on where to buy this Carista you speak of?
