    Hello,

I purchased my first 4Runner (2003 V6) a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, it has rusty frame, and I’ve made the decision to tackle this head on.

It appears that the rear axle upper control arm bracket is cracked. I’ve tried going to junk yards and online to find it but no luck.

Any ideas where I could get my hands on one?

Is going to a local weld/machine shop and having them crop/renew the failed metal not an option? Or are you stating specifically you want to fix this?

I have no welding expertise to fix this, but I’ve reached out to a few local welders and they stated they don’t work on autos, which was a big surprise to me.

I was simply hoping to get this fabricated and get a welder to weld the new bracket back as the old one is not good shape.

Depends if you’re in a state with vehicle inspections or not. Having someone weld their vehicle for inspection reasons and it not passing, leaves the shop taking heat from customers. Alot of shops will try their best to weld the hunk of junks the customer brings in together, but in reality alot of them do not pass. In turn that why most shops dont wanna do automotive welding
