Any floor jack recommendations for a lifted 4Runner? Reliable good value and lifts high. I’ve been using my emergency bottle jack (not the Toyota one) for tire rotations etc. and it’s a hassle. Looking to make lifting the truck a lot easier.

I have been eyeing this Harborfreight Daytona 3 ton for years. I think its perfect, but it's a bit pricey so i wait and ponder and wait and ponder and wait for a huge sale. lol

That’s as close to a perfect score in as many reviews I’ve seen. Probably a buy once, cry once thing but don’t know if I can stomach a $300 jack right now. Looking for something as good at or under $200.

Don't know how much of a lift you have, how about this jack from Amazon, https://www.amazon.com/Alltrade-640...736621082&sprefix=offroad+jack,aps,135&sr=8-8. I use this for my trailer when changing the tire (trailer has the same size tire as my 4runner).

Exactly my problem too. I always prefer to buy once, cry once. Its why i have a 4Runner.

    Next best option

The daytona Harbor freight jacks are good. But make sure to check the lift height on them. Every model has a different max height, so make sure that you’ll have enough height based on your 4runner. You’d hate to get a slightly cheaper one and find you have to use blocks to make up for extra lift height that you needed. If it’s shorter than you need, it will be a pain in the ass every time you use it.

Jacks are big and a pain in the ass to store, so if you gonna get one, it’s worth the effort to get the best one that will fit your needs.

Yeah, that's why i really wanted the $300 Daytona that will go to 23" and also low profile for low slug cars. Of course the Badland goes to 29" but looks cheap and costs even more.

My 4R is not lifted so ether should work. Don't think i could get away with 19".

The badlands looks pretty neat, and I think it’s aluminum or partly aluminum and lighter, if I recall correctly.

But I probably wouldn’t get it for my primary, since I’m not sure how long the wheel material last over the broken-up concrete in my garage.

Disclaimer: still above your quoted $200 budget … but I would throw Norco in the mix. For “value” … I think it’s tough to beat. They have the feel and quality of a professional tool. After my mechanic buddy showed me his Norco, sitting next to one of the Harbor Freight models, I was sold. I have been using the 71335 (3.5 ton) for several years and it’s got plenty of height to change tires with a 3” lift.

If you decide to go down the buy-once-cry-once route, see if there’s a Norco dealer nearby.

Daytona or Badlands Off Road. I have had both for a while now I love them. Also, there is a channel on YT, Project Farm where the owner puts to the test various types of equipment and products. He performed test on a few jacks, Daytona included. See for yourself.

I bought the PITTSBURGH 3 Ton Low-Profile Floor Jack with RAPID PUMP. Don't remember why I chose that one over the Daytona (might not have been in stock when I needed to buy one). Works well on my 2" lifted 4Runner. For $119 (inside track club price), the Daytona sounds like a great deal.

they go on sale pretty frequently; some models go for under $200.

also recommend the 3-ton stands with circular pads for supporting the frame rails.

I normally lift the axle a few inches, not the frame a foot or more to get a wheel off the ground. My DIY 2 adapters- one for front and one for rear. I store them in the truck in the jack cubby.IMG_0206.jpg IMG_0204.jpg

Think I found my jack. $200 Daytona 24” lift height and tons of good reviews.

Very nice fab job, and to make use of that jack... bravo! I'm not a big fan of those jacks, but you put it to good use. While we have a 'typical' floor jack that's rated for 6 ton, it's nice to see what we can use the Toyota jack for on the trail. Thanx for the pics., mind if I copy?

Good choice. That was the one I was going to buy originally, but was quite a bit larger (and heavier) than the 20" models and wouldn't fit where I needed to store it.

Not all the jacks come filled with oil. I could only find jack oil sold by the quart (ish) and so I have about 9.9/10th's of a quart left.

When you get your jack, be aware that there may be a plastic block down where the handle pivots that needs to be removed to allow full travel of the handle. If you don't remove it, you'll think the jack is broken and get frustrated for about 20 minutes trying to fix it until you figure out that you didn't remove the block.

That would never happen to me, of course, but might happen to someone else.

Gotta rethink this Daytona. The thing is huge and +100lbs. Definitely don’t have space for it.

How much space are you talking? What are you using it for?

Any floor jack is going to take up about that much space… some are smaller, but not by much.

a bottle jack is muck smaller, but lifting a truck with one can be sketchy depending on the application.

I should have mentioned how big they are. lol But yeah for a good jack it's going to be a decent size like that.

Get a good bottle jack and some jack stands.

I would only use the bottle jack in an extreme situation where I had no choice. when not at home, I keep a short 2 ton floor jack below in the back toyota cooler

Grab the standard reach model if that will fit where you need it to. Does everything I need. If you need more lift, grab a 4x4 block.

If you don't already have jack stands, you might as well grab the 6 ton versions. I bought the 3 ton and they were not tall enough. If they sell jack pads, put one of those in your cart too.
